agreed. would be nice to see a walker, Ajani's like the only other one and that was a one time thing, he's settled into (and looks like Gideon's gonna take his spot as mono white)

March 2, 2015 1:41 a.m.

JakeHarlow says... #2

Probably true. But recall that the most recent Ajani, Ajani Steadfast, was mono-white. But I do think you're right still. M15 certainly seemed to be a swan song for the traditional walkers in their traditional roles. I guess Lily is staying as 's walker, and I don't think Chandra is going anywhere. But Ajani is doing something else for sure (his whole anti-Gods agenda on Theros makes me think he'll splash into enchantment-hating ), and Jace, as the Living Guildpact, is literally the successor of Azor I, the founder of the Azorius Senate. Which means he will likely settle into B/W . Or at least he'll move to the side for a while.

March 2, 2015 2:07 a.m.

JakeHarlow says... #3

I'm sorry, coded wrong there. I meant to say Jace might go into .

And Garruk has already splashed into Golgari. Maybe he will get purified at some point and go back to just , but for now, Nissa is clearly filling those shoes.

Who else thinks Megamorph is extremely dumb and gay .-.?Megamorph details

March 2, 2015 7:29 a.m.

Boza says... #5

Yeah, I am still not buying megamorph until a see it on a spoiled card. It is extremely dumb.

March 2, 2015 8:09 a.m.

MurderHood says... #6

@Boza Same here bud.

March 2, 2015 8:13 a.m.

Rayenous says... #7

Wow!!

A Dragon that has synergy with Lightning Shrieker...

I can wipe the board, because I know I'll eventually re-draw my 5/5 Flying Trample Haste!

LOL!

In reality, I'm sure this is supposed to be meant as a Limited Bomb. - Essentially an easier to cast Duneblast, but you don't get to choose the creature... it IS the creature.

March 2, 2015 8:26 a.m.

GotCubes says... #8

Honestly, I think the coolest part about this card is the first part of the effect. "If you cast it from your hand." This makes me think that Wizards definitely has some intention to implement more graveyard-utilizing mechanics. Seems like Sultai will become more and more playable.

March 2, 2015 8:49 a.m.

JWiley129 says... #9

GotCubes - I believe that clause is there to prevent Whip of Erebos shenanigans currently. If you could Whip it back and get a board wipe, that'd be waaaay too good in the current Standard environment. There could be some graveyard synergies with "Blood" block, but I'd wait and see.

the spoilers are in... and Silumgar is wearing Tasagir as a Necklace

March 2, 2015 11:04 a.m.

slovakattack says... #11

The new Sidisi is the best card spoiled yet. EDH playable for sure.

March 2, 2015 11:05 a.m.

Rayenous says... #12

Notice anything on this card...?

Elder Dragon

This is probably why Bolas was on Tarkir 1200 years ago. To prevent the development of Elder Dragons.
After the First Elder Dragon wars, I would expect that he would want to prevent the existence of more.

March 2, 2015 11:08 a.m.

CuteSnail says... #13

I finally found a general I like. Sidisi's not bad either.

March 2, 2015 11:09 a.m.

Rayenous says... #14

ummmm.....

img

A Scourge of Valkas ability...
Plus Fervor for flying creatures...

...for CMC!!!

March 2, 2015 11:13 a.m.

Rayenous says... #15

@AllAroundGeek.

So, I guess he went from Tasigur, the Golden Fang to "Tasigur, the Golden Chain". :P

March 2, 2015 11:18 a.m.

JWiley129 says... #16

Am I the only one who thinks that this card might be Constructed playable?

Also, it's a shame that the best way to abuse the new Sidisi is to use Deadeye Navigator in EDH.

March 2, 2015 11:20 a.m.

mathimus55 says... #17

So I guess the "megamorph" rumors are true. I'm kinda sad. I'm sure they could have done better than something that sounds like it came straight off a Power Rangers episode.

But seriously, everything else looks slick, exploit sounds super intriguing. Silumgar and Sidisi are going right into Marchesa, the Black Rose EDH.

March 2, 2015 11:23 a.m.

CuteSnail says... #18

Because Deadeye Navigator isn't abuseble enough already? :D

March 2, 2015 11:24 a.m.

March 2, 2015 11:25 a.m.

Dragon Tempest looks like it can be stupid good if we see some lower cost dragons...

March 2, 2015 11:28 a.m.

CuteSnail says... #21

I really like Profound Journey. Good EDH card. Alt text

Sidisi seems good in Kresh and is going in my Ghave deck.

March 2, 2015 11:29 a.m.

Souljacker says... #22

When do we ever see lower cost dragons?

And any guess what Formidable has in variations? I guess they all depend on the power of your creatures, but what effects can it have?

March 2, 2015 11:29 a.m.

Rodzo says... #23

Stratus dancer is going strait in my w.i.p. UGr manifest deck, instead of Kheru Spellsnatcher

March 2, 2015 11:30 a.m.

TheOnlyCub says... #24

Just think about Dragon Tempest in Scion EDH...

March 2, 2015 11:30 a.m.

Phaetion says... #25

New Sidisi is making my head spin. I wanted to avoid tutors for so long in Grimgrin. I'll pick up the card just in case I have a change of heart but still...

March 2, 2015 11:32 a.m.

shepherdofire says... #26

THE CHARACTER ON THE PROFOUND JOURNEY IS NARSET!

March 2, 2015 11:33 a.m.

I can see a jank Dragon Tempest and Brood Keeper deck working.

March 2, 2015 11:34 a.m.

CuteSnail says... #28

I'm personally really excited to see where Elder dragons go from here and how this will effect their appearance outside of Tarkir.

Silumgar is more playable than the original elder dragons in my opinion.

March 2, 2015 11:34 a.m.

Rayenous says... #29

Horrible that Silumgar lost Hexproof though. :(

March 2, 2015 11:38 a.m.

Rayenous says... #30

Rebound... free prowess triggers anyone? :)

March 2, 2015 11:40 a.m.

Souljacker says... #31

Hexproof would be too strong with the ETB effect he has.

March 2, 2015 11:40 a.m.

xcn says... #32

Maybe Zurgo Bellringer will reduce the cost of dragons.

He rings the dinner bell, they come a-flyin'.

March 2, 2015 11:41 a.m.

00xtremeninja says... #33

I love that Stratus Dancer.

March 2, 2015 11:43 a.m.

CuteSnail says... #34

Rayenous adding hexproof to that ability would make your control over the creature or planeswalker so much longer. He can already steal planeswalkers... and that ability is (pretty sure) unique. I'd say he's pretty powerful as is... Hexproof would put him over the top.

March 2, 2015 11:43 a.m.

CuteSnail says... #35

Wait...fetches and now rebound. Boy Tarkir is taking a lot from Zendikar...is wotc trying to hint at something?

March 2, 2015 11:46 a.m.

Did anyone see the booster packaging? It looks like we're getting another Sarkhan and another Narset.

March 2, 2015 11:51 a.m.

mathimus55 says... #37

Link alex?

March 2, 2015 11:53 a.m.

JWiley129 says... #38

Here ya go mathimus55

March 2, 2015 11:57 a.m.
March 2, 2015 11:57 a.m.

@JWiley129: Yeah, those. The top one definitely looks like Sarkhan to me and the bottom one feels like it's probably Narset.

March 2, 2015 11:58 a.m.

ceji3 says... #41

Yay! Two silumgars at once. Talk about grixis dragons here folks. Or everything but white. Would be fun, but probably not competitive

March 2, 2015 12:02 p.m.

Shill says... #42

So the question now is if Narset is just a rare like the other khans or if she is a plainswalker like some people thought

March 2, 2015 12:09 p.m.

The_Raven says... #43

Megamorph.... Mega.... Morph.... Am I the only one, who thinks this name is dumb? I mean, giving a +1/+1 counter on the creature doesn't make it mega....

Dragonlord Silumgar.... A mythic? He doesn't fell that good....

Rebound! YES! Hope to see something good for my Heroic deck! :)

March 2, 2015 12:15 p.m.

Phaetion says... #44

NorthernRaven On another thread, I stated that Megamorph is a name used on a Yugioh card. Which means...

...Wizards are busting out some Yugimonz! :p

March 2, 2015 12:19 p.m.

xcn says... #45

Phaetion Destructor Dragon had a pretty YGO name too.

March 2, 2015 12:21 p.m.

Phaetion says... #46

xcn: Now that you mention it...

March 2, 2015 12:25 p.m.

shepherdofire says... #47

Shill it's in the lore that narset was exiled from the ojutai brood, and if you look at her eyes they glow like sarkhans. I think she is a planeswalker

March 2, 2015 12:27 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #48

There have been ALL sorts of hints that Narset has a PW spark, but it just hadn't ignited yet. I think it is a very likely scenario that Narset is in DTK as a planeswalker. I wouldn't disagree with another Sarkhan, just as long as he isn't mono- like he was in KTK.

Spootyone says... #49

Let's take a second to talk about the new Sidisi (link).

To begin, she has Doomwake Giant stats. We've already seen that the 4/6 body for 5 can be frustrating to attack through, but we're not done there. Sidisi also has deathtouch, which makes blocking those Siege Rhinos, Tasigur, the Golden Fangs, Polukranos, World Eaters, and Doomwake Giants all the more beneficial to you.

But we're still not done, because instead of removing all the opposing x/1s, this giant does something else: it TUTORS. It tutors for ANYTHING. And you don't have to reveal the info to your opponent either. That's obviously a very powerful effect. Now, you do have to sacrifice a creature to make this happen, but let's look at how big of a problem that really may be, shall we?

Think about it. What creatures are you likely playing to get to that mana? Elvish Mystic? Sylvan Caryatid? Maybe even Satyr Wayfinder? All of these are fine sacrifice targets for Sidisi, and some of which are desireable in the grave. this sacrifice can also fuel delve, which doesn't need further discussion.

So what if you don't have a creature to sacrifice? You're in luck! This is a MAY ability. So no big downsides if you drop Sidisi onto an empty board or don't want to sacrifice your Courser of Kruphix for a tutor because there's something good on top already.

"But what if I drop her onto an empty board and really need that tutor??"

YOU'RE IN SO MUCH LUCK, MY FRIEND. See, they worded exploit very carefully. It says "a creature". Seeing as it is an ETB ability, this means that you can actually sacrifice your sidisi to HERSELF. Talk about exploitation! Suicide for wealth: Coming to a brood near you.

Please can we mention how gross Sidisi is in a Midrange mirror? Pretty please?

Spootyone: This is an auto include in many EDH decks. It's absolutely nuts.
