Unfortunately, I don't see how we can translate legacy infect remotely effectively into modern infect. The strength in cards such as Daze or Force of Will is that they don't cost any mana, so they are good for the element of surprise. With many of the modern legal counterspells, none of them are good and very efficient. Not costing mana is critical for protecting infect creatures as well.
Another strength of legacy infect is the ability to kill out of no where. Invigorate and Berserk enable a turn 2 kill on a turn 1 infect creature. Modern doesn't have this, so modern has to try to chip away at the opponent to deliver the lethal 10 infect.
The reason Crop Rotation is good in legacy is because Wasteland is heavily played, so it allows you to sac your land in response to being targeted by a Wasteland activation. It also tutors an infect creature straight into play.
Also, losing Git Probe was pretty big for the deck, as it can't see if the coast is clear, so thought scour is not a replacement for it. It was also a free cycle.
I think the deck is probably still best going all in.
