Why use your hand if you got a library?

Modern* G/U (Simic)

Description

Hi folks!

This is not your normal Ramp-into-Fatties deck, but a more control based reactive deck aiming for a card advantage with Rashmi, Eternities Crafter and flashing stuff in. Due to flash mechanics this deck can go for heavy end-of-turn-value action and very unexpected plays.

Manabase consits of Arbor Elfs and Utopia Sprawls for possible 4 mana on turn 2 and some Kiora's Followers who synergize with' Utopia Sprawl aswell.

The possible turn 2 Nissa, Steward of Elements allows decent draws due to her scry ability and gets the presure up, allowing synergys with Oracle of Mul Daya and Vizier of the Menagerie, as you know when to 0 your Nissa and get a creature for free.

Oracle of Mul Daya allows decent ramp and an almost certain guarantee to not draw into lands as you simply play them from your library. Vizier of the Menagerie shines especially with Prophet of Kruphix in play but with Yeva, Nature's Herald aswell.

Flash enabers for extra value with Rashmi are Prophet of Kruphix and Yeva, Nature's Herald, whereas Glen Elendra Archmage is the only creature not getting flash from Yeva, Nature's Herald (sadly).

Win cons are Murkfiend Liege who gives a solid bonus to our creatures and Master Biomancer, who synergizes perfectly well with Glen Elendra Archmage, allowing you as many Negates as you can afford . Can be a hard-lock against certain decks

Mystic Snake and Glen Elendra Archmage are our main control options. Having a Snake on top with a Vizier of the Menagerie in play allows some junky flash from top action and can be devastating if unexpected.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Good on you for finding a use for all those Prophet of Kruphixs.

My post is perfect proof that advertisement works: i just saw the deck in a question thread right after not clicking onto it on main page.

Awesome list, i really like all the synergy here. There are some cards that would fit, but would rather be redundacy: Garruk's Horde is somewhere between oracle and vizier and also synergizes well with prophet and yeva. Soul of the Harvest draws you some cards during each and every turn, and Zendikar Resurgent does the same while also doubling your mana. Reason / Believe could be pretty decent as well.

Thanks for the kind words

To your suggestions: Garruk's Horde is a powerhouse but Vizier of the Menagerie seems to be better due to lower mana cost and the not revealed information as the card is not revealed.

Soul of the Harvest seems pretty decent too but I intent to go for Prime Speaker Zegana instead, as she refills the hand immediatly and gets additional benefits from Murkfiend Liege.Maybe even a Azami, Lady of Scrolls since a lot of the creatures are wizards and untap all the time.

For the other to I see the problem that they are nether creatures or lands, wich on top are not that nice.Im regulary getting slowed down by a Utopia Sprawl on top I cannot cast but its a necessery deal I have to make if I want turn 2 4 mana.

Thanks for the suggestion tho, really appreciated

This is a super promising build!! I would like to make a few recommendations though. First and foremost, you have too many big drops. They are all really good, but there will be a time during the game when you will won't be able to get any value off of your creatures because they will all be moderately expensive. I would recommend making the average CMC a little lower. Cards like Coiling Oracle and Courser of Kruphix are lower costed, fit in with your top of the library theme, and also work better with a ramp/value based strategy than cards like Master Biomancer and Murkfield Leige. Also, I'd add in a few copies of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Essentially, it can only help you. All of your creatures except Glen Elendra Archmage are green, and Nkythos can turbo out a number of your value generators turns before they would normally come out. Also note that Nykthos is incredible with Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl .

All in all: love this deck, easy +1 from me.

Well this is really cool! I've been looking for a deck for Vizier of the Menagerie ever since it was spoiled, but everything I tried just seemed lackluster. I would also second the Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx suggestion, or maybe even a single Growing Rites of Itlimoc  Flip. The synergy with Kiora's Follower is pretty insane for generating lots of mana. I know itlimoc is just another enchantment that you can't remove from your library so nyx is probably the better addition if you will only include one.
