Jund monsters deck that has been modified for rotation and the khans of tarkir standard season, the deck works very similar to the original jund monsters deck, its has the basic ramp cards such as Elvish Mystic and Sylvan Caryatid plus the card advantage engine of Courser of Kruphix, Now we dont have Domri Rade any longer, but Chandra, Pyromaster does have pretty flexible synergy with Courser of Kruphix, being able to play not just creatures, but planeswalker, sorcery, and instant spells off the top of the library, it can be very good in the late game and even if it's a card you dont need you can get it out of the way and prevent a dead draw, now of course we have Xenagos, the Reveler, for mana ramp and creature production which is very helpful against the aggro and control match ups, i also run
Reaper of the Wilds
which in my opinion is a very under rated card, for the versatility it gives, it dodges removal with its hexproof ability, it trades with everything bigger then it with the deathtouch ability and to top it off you also benefit from the dying of creatures, all around a very solid card and not to mention a 4/5 body for 4 mana is great, Now the three All Stars of the deck are
Polukranos, World Eater
, Stormbreath Dragon, and sarkhan, the dragon speaker now we already know with the prior monsters decks poly k and stormbreath hold their own as staples in the standard format and most widely in the monsters style decks, but sarkhan changes the game, he comes down and either A kills a dude or B stormbreaths your opponent or one of their planeswalkers, he can really get out of hand considering if they dont have planeswalker removal the dragon he becomes is indestructible so he cant be burned or killed, however he can be exiled so Utter End and Silence the Believers can be problematic, but overall the deck has really great synergy along with the card avantage from courser and chandra I also run 2 Read the Bones And for my removal package I run Hero's Downfall and
Stoke the Flames
, a lot of people i knew who were playing jund or a variant of monsters either went to Temur or Abzan, but I personally feel that the Jund monsters deck isn't quite out of the fight yet, it might not be as popular as the other midrange decks, but it is definitely going to put up a fight, I top 4'd at my local FNM with this deck and lost to rabble red, and a pretty cool Junk (abzan) monsters deck, any feed back is greatly appreciated, +1 if you like it!, update 10/06/2014 i've decided against the planeswalker route for speeds sake, the walkers are fun but ifeel like the deck could be more effective so im going creature heavy to speed things up ill update as i find cards that will staying the open slots
