CurdBrosBrewingCo - Thanks! I've been tweaking for quite some time, but I'm not certain I've quite got it right.

Vinelasher Kudzu could work out in here

Caligula - It certainly could! But, I would have to find something to take out for it, and I don't know what that would be. This isn't a very aggressive deck at heart, but I think I could add a copy or two if you might suggest something for me to take out. Thanks for the suggestion, though! It's certainly an interesting one.

HMMM I'd probably drop the Sakura-Tribe Elder for maybe something more powerful such as Harrow (Would work with the theme of Knight of the Reliquary and Vinelasher Kudzu

Maybe -4x Sakura-Tribe Elder

For

2x Harrow 2x Vinelasher Kudzu

Another option (Just a suggestion)-4x Path to Exile

for

2x more Harrow and maybe 2x Life from the Loam

Cool deck idea though, I had one all built up and ready for testing but then got distracted by other decks lol

maybe using Karametra, God of Harvests could work in your favor as well

Caligula - Those are interesting. I like the idea of using Harrow (I've been toying with that idea for a while). However, I do need several turn 2 options, and Sakura-Tribe Elder has worked very well so far. It's a blocker I'm always willing to trade ("trade"), and there's a reason it's a staple in traditional Scapeshift builds. I don't feel confident in cutting them. And the other suggestion - cutting Path to Exile - that's another I unfortunately can't. It's the only removal in the deck, and is very much needed, and in a pinch you can toss one of your guys for the last Valakut damage (which will piss people off, but it's pretty great). It's also a turn 1 spell that has to be respected, in its own right.

However, I could see myself swapping Harrow for Rites of Flourishing , though that's another card that does a LOT for this deck. The card draw gets me closer to the critical Prismatic Omen and Idyllic Tutor sooner.

Again, I like your ideas, but I'm going to need a very good reason (or a VERY good card) to swap out what I have so far. If anything is more efficient, I'm certainly interested, but this is a pretty tight list, and cutting is difficult. I appreciate your suggestions, though! They've been unique.

Oh, I didn't touch on Karametra. Sorry, she's too slow. End game (turns 4-7), I'm not casting very many creatures, if any, and she's a bit of a curve-topper. She also runs out of targets REALLY fast. I fetch up almost all of my Plains/Forests every game.

I was toying with a similar build a while back, but splashing blue for Kiora, the Crashing Wave and some permission/protection in Remand .what i found with the plain G/W build was that i burn't out way to quick, and the fizzled because i only had one combo piece.

I suggested that you cut some lands Grove of the Guardian , 1x Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle and the swamp (Relic of Progenitus is a way better SB card than Nihil Spellbomb ).

If you are meaning for this to be competitive the Rites of Flourishing shouldn't be in here, in most cases it helps your opponents more than you. I don't think Birds of Paradise or Explore are needed and would replace the with either Search for Tomorrow or Farseek (farseek is probably weaker in just a two color deck)

I think that you need a full set of the combo pieces :- Scapeshift , Prismatic Omen and Idyllic Tutor . this means that you can win more reliably.

I don't know how good Knight of the Reliquary is in here, but i would like to run either Lotus Cobra , or Courser of Kruphix in its place.

I think that is all i will suggest now, i hope that it helps :)

Kyresh - As much as I love Remand and Kiora, I'd like to keep it just two colors. They're really good, but I think that it would lower my consistency. Have you playtested the deck? It seems to work fine to me (a little slow to combo, I think, but I'm working on it for a reason!), and if I were to spread out to other colours I think I would rather have black than blue for the kind of disruption suite it would give me.

I agree with you about Relic of Progenitus - that it's the better grave-hate card - but it also trips my graveyard, which weakens my Knight of the Reliquary and shuts off Crucible of Worlds . Also, I need this critical mass of lands, because I sac so many to the Knight and fetch up whichever tool I need at the moment with it and Primeval Titan . Grove of the Guardian was actually a weird choice for me, but look at it - with Crucible in play, I can just dump creatures every turn (and with Rites of Flourishing active as well, possibly more). It was a weird singleton alternate win-con that I just randomly thought of and it seems to work well to me. I'd like to test the deck more, but I don't own it yet, so I can't test it as much as I'd like.

Now, I know it seems a crime not to run playsets of Scapeshift and Idyllic Tutor , but I haven't needed them as much? Tutor is better as a 2-of, I think, because it makes my SB Stony Silence and Blind Obedience into 4-ofs, and Prismatic Omen and LoS into 6-ofs. I'd like to actually bump it up to three, but I'd need to shave something, and I'm not sure what. Omen is the big one, since everything else works off of and around it, so that's and auto-4-of. But I've found my consistency go up when I shed the one Scapeshift , which was weird to me, too. I just don't need it as much as Omen.

And Courser of Kruphix - I think that is definitely something I should have. I wouldn't cut the knights, because they do SO much work, but I know there's a place for them. Probably instead of Rites. I like Search for Tomorrow in place of Birds (and I'll probably find a way to squeeze four of them in here), but you're right about Farseek - weaker here. Explore helps a lot, and if I'm cutting Rites I need more of them - probably the full four. And I love Lotus Cobra ! I really do. But I need more turn-1 action. If you have more of that, I'm certainly all ears.

Thank you for all of that! That's been really helpful. I'll make some changes and see how it goes!

could you please explain why Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle is in there? it just seems like wasted space..

May 24, 2014 7:47 p.m.

thuzra says... #14

Well, you see, Asher18, it is the primary win-con. Everything in the deck is meant to abuse it. Without any damn mountains, too!

May 24, 2014 8:53 p.m.

Asher18 says... #15

spacefiller?

May 24, 2014 9:31 p.m.

thuzra says... #16

Space filler? No no. Prismatic Omen makes all of my lands into mountains. So with Knight of the Reliquary , Primeval Titan , Rites of Flourishing , and Scapeshift , I can unload crazy stupid tons of damage with every Landfall, as long as I have six lands or more. Now, I may not NEED Valakut to win (I have a pretty decent beatdown package), but I will usually win with it.

awesome! I'm a fan of not using any red in a scapeshift deck... It'll sure throw your opponents off track

Steppe Lynx is a bit eh in a deck like this. This isn't an aggro deck, so having a body that generally only grows on the turn I'm not blocking isn't particularly attractive, you know what I mean? It certainly looks sweet in a vacuum, however! Thanks for the suggestion - I'll tinker with it.
