Modern legal, big ramp, big stuff, go nuts.

Goal: Cast as many defenders as you can to get the biggest mana ramp and win the game with either Colossus of Akros , Spawnsire of Ulamog , or just getting lucky with Assault Formation . It's by far one the funnest decks to play, and it's even sorta competitive. Genesis Wave is especially hilarious in the deck in my opinion. Have a go at it, I certainly enjoy it.

Individual Card Functions Show

• Axebane Guardian & Overgrown Battlement are the main creatures you want to use to get massive ramp. The more defenders on the battlefield, the better.

• Jaddi Offshoot offers you some lifegain in the early game, also delaying your opponents' possibly offensive strategies.

• Sylvan Caryatid & Wall of Roots not only serve as fuel for your Guardians/Battlements, but they can also fuel themselves, making the deck more efficient.

• Hornet Nest acts as an aggressive blocker that keeps your opponent at bay, buying you some extra time for a win condition.

• Colossus of Akros is one of your win cons. Colossus is great because not only does he fuel your Guardians/Battlements, but he's an indestructible 10/10 that can get very nasty very quickly, becoming a monstrous 20/20 with indestructible & trample.

• Spawnsire of Ulamog is another win con. Spawnsire is what gives the deck its name. Use his 20-cost ability to suddenly change the board state into something completely different. Game-winning different. Drop It That Betrays followed by All Is Dust to gain control of your opponent, cast Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger , and swing for 40 with your playset of Decimator of the Provinces , win the game. Surprise!

• Beast Within serves as your removal. Destroys anything on the field, and they get a 3/3 Beast that you can probably block so...

• Withstand Death serves as some additional protection from your opponents' removal, especially from board wipes.

• Asceticism gives all of your creatures hexproof and regeneration. What's there not to love?

• Assault Formation turns your defenders into an overwhelming army and gives you some utility while you stall for a win condition. Sometimes it will be your win condition so long as you keep a good board state.

• Genesis Wave is the ultimate catalyst for this deck. With so much ramp, you can basically play a fraction of your deck for free, which is just game-winning good. A great card overall.

• Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx acts as a 3rd mana producer that counts all of your green creatures, like another Guardian/Battlement of sorts.

Sideboard Show

• All Is Dust , It That Betrays , Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger , and Decimator of the Provinces all combo with Spawnsire of Ulamog

• Witchbane Orb for Storm and Burn

• Back to Nature for Boggles or enchantment strategies

• Creeping Corrosion for Affinity or artifact based strategies

• Sandwurm Convergence for evasion strategies
