Spellrush-- because control is boring

Modern Combo Competitive UBR (Grixis)

Hyperwrath

Sideboard

This deck capitalizes on the ability of Kiln Fiend. The goal of the deck is to create a one-turn instakilling, unstoppable, and protected creature, in an effort to win as soon as possible. The creature, Kiln Fiend, is buffed by a "Doubler" and "Unblocker," while being protected by a "Protecter" and facing less removal thanks to discard.

The Creature: [[Kiln Fiend]. In case you haven't noticed already, this creature gets +3/+0 whenever I cast an instant or sorcery. This is key for super-buffing it to be strong enough to finish the opponent in one turn. Flamekin Harbinger can tutor Kiln Fiend in.

Doublers: Assault Strobe and Tainted Strike. These spells both cut the amount of power needed to instakill the opponent in half. Tainted Strike has the extra bonus of providing its target +1/+0. So yeah, pretty self-explanatory.

Unblockers: Distortion Strike and Apostle's Blessing. The purpose of these spells are to make my creature unblockable, to ensure my opponent is the one to receive the fatal blow. These spells can be sideboarded out when facing a creatureless deck. Distortion Strike also gives +1/+0 for additional morbid splendor.

Protectors: Not of This World, Spellskite, and Apostle's Blessing. These cards protect my creature from removal and other anti-creature spells that can ruin my one chance to win. They are also obviously more useful vs. control and burn decks, so its a good idea to sideboard more in when facing them.

Discard: Duress and Inquisition of Kozilek Removes my opponent's removal or interrupts my opponent's early game, depending on their type of deck.

You can add Dizzy Spell to this deck if you're having consistency issues or are playing more casually.

Mwahahaha, and so now my creature is invincible, unstoppable, and ready to devastate the opponent with a single attack :D

Generic ComboKiln Fiend + Assault Strobe/Tainted Strike + Distortion Strike /Apostle's Blessing + any spare 1 mana instant. Not of This World/Spellskite's ability if needed. That's, at minimum, a 10 double strike unblockable. GG.

The sideboard on this deck is very important. Stubborn Denial is a great card to have as it gives this deck a lot of flexibility and is useful vs. control. Mizzium Skin is used as an additional counterspell, also useful vs. control. Spreading Seas, Evil Presence , and Sea's Claim is all burn hate. It royally screws any deck with a small manabase or dependent on a land like the Shrine to Nix (so it destroys nixwave as well).

Suggestions are welcome, HOWEVER I have pretty thoroughly thought out this deck and all its workings so it's probably as watertight as its going to get, but there might be a card I'm unaware of. Please don't suggest any of the following cards:

I gave this deck one final rework, and it's a lot different than it was before. I cut most of the unnecessary cards from the deck and gave it a much larger focus on keeping the critical creature alive, by use of discard, Spellskite, and counters. This is definitely the final structure of the deck, although it's probably going to see some tweaking (maybe the inclusion of dizzy spell). I think this deck has just about hit its pinnacle.
