The Deck

Blow everything up. Then blow everything up again.

The basic premise of this deck is to have recurring token generation from cards like Bitterblossom, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, etc, so that when I wipe the board, I'll be able to recover quickly from it without requiring additional card expenditure.

With 7 boardwipes mainboard, plus three paths, my goal is to keep my opponents boards free from creatures. Most experienced players will hold back some of their resources waiting for a boardwipe, so that they can rebuild their boardstate fairly quickly should the worst occur. But, in the fast-paced world of modern, most of they time they aren't planning for that second Wrath of God.

The deck runs no actual creatures, with its swinging power coming strictly from either planeswalkers, or cards like Lingering Souls and Oath of Gideon.

Card Choices

Sorin, Solemn Visitor is the signature card of the deck. Turn 3 Oath of Gideon into turn 4 Sorin, Solemn Visitor||Sorin puts him at 6 loyalty counters the turn he comes in, with two blockers waiting to defend him. This means he can ult the turn after he enters, giving an emblem that forces your opponents to sacrifice a creature at each of their upkeeps. If this emblem ever resolves, combined with the rest of my removal, my opponents usually don't get to swing again for the rest of the game. Sorin, Solemn Visitor also provides some much-needed lifelink to the rest of your creatures.

Sorin, lord of inistrad is primarily used for his -2 emblem. +1/+0 is quite powerful when applied to a field of tokens.

Ajani Steadfast is helpful for lifegain, but, when combined with Oath of Gideon, can allow you to play and ult Sorin, Solemn Visitor on the same turn.

Intangible Virtue and Butterblossom pretty much speak for themselves. They are especially important in this deck as they are the turn-two drop.

Oath of Gideon provides tokens and loyalty counters. Even though it is a legendary enchantment, I still run 4 because having this out as a turn-three drop is quite the asset. And it is never a dead card. Even if one is on the field already, you can simply play the second to bolster your token army.

Sideboard

thought seize and Surgical Extraction are my go to when playing against control decks. It's easy to sub out some fieldwipes for them, as control players usually have to sacrifice board presence for some of their other spells.

Surgical Extraction goes fantastic with my heavy kill policy, as well, since the second something hits the graveyard, I can remove all instances of it from the game for good.

Zealous Persecution is a very situational card, but it can be an outright game changer. Token v. Token, it's practically a board wipe, or at the very least a win when our army's blades lock. On a normal swing, it can be used to kill an obnoxious blocker, or buff a crowd for an unexpected win.

Disenchant, Anguished Unmaking, and Merciless Eviction sub in when my opponents are running an enchantment or artifact strategy that doesn't hinge on creatures as much.

Sorin Markov is there for my meta. Life gain decks, some that gain infinite, are somewhat commonplace.

Anyhow, hope you guys like the deck. Feel free to leave suggestions, but I'm not really looking to change up this deck too much. It's not perfectly competitive, but I prefer to keep the theme intact. So not a single creature, and I likely won't be veering away from the planeswalker and heavy boardwipe theme. That said, I'd still welcome any ideas for cards that may improve it.
