Decklist update —May 15, 2015

PRIMER HAS BEEN UPDATED

I finally got my hands on a Gaea's Cradle and a Natural Order , Lotus Cobra and Fiend Hunter are now part of the list to improve ramp and enable creature tutorable creature removal. turns out it also enables a 4 card combo for instant win. who would have thought?

We also got some slight color fixing occuring in the land base with the addition of a Grove of the Burnwillows and a cycle of duals are in!

I've tuned up the draw in the list with the fresh addition of Regal Force and Shamanic Revelation slotting in to help keep my hand full and my board angry! Still testing with shamanic revelation to see how it holds up to he who once was: Harmonize

Other changes made to the list is the inclusion of a lot more noncreature permenant hate in the shape of Woodfall Primus, Reclamation Sage, and Qasali Pridemage to help improve utility in this wonderful curve of ours.

Last but not least mack daddy sweeper All is Dust has been given a temporary leave of absence after never being cast in this deck in its 7 month stay here in favor of Big Mama herself Dragonlord Dromoka I have high hopes for this big girl to help me wade through control matchups and to synergize with my combos and Archangel of Thune hopefully Dragonlord Dromoka will prove to be a strong card when it comes to stabilizing my life total. so far I've seen moderate success with her in play she will likely keep this slot until something stronger is printed! Bye Bye All is Dust!

Last but not least I've begun the foiling process for this deck and soon many cards will be locked in stone in the name of shininess!

Very nice. Have you thought about Flametongue Kavu, Shaman of Forgotten Ways, Dragonlord Dromoka, or Loyal Retainers? I feel as if you might be running too many wraths.

Tata thanks for the comment! You're right about me having too many wraths about one too many and its name is All Is Dust I'm just hard pressed to find a good card to be in its place. I dont think any of your suggestions though fit fully into what I'm trying to do here though. I'd love to here arguments for these cards though as I may be missing some piece to the puzzle. My plan for the All Is Dust as it stands is to get Mana Crypt or some other way to provide fast mana.

My control match up is often very rough too so if you could suggest some goodies to help me slug through 3 control decks that'd be awesome!

Flametongue Kavu is good because it almost always kills something, looks good in your pod chain, and adds something solid to the beat-down plan. Though if you're vs. control it might not be the best. Would kill a dork/small utility creature/a general, which is pretty decent, but Marath does that normally.

Shaman of Forgotten Ways is good against control because it must be answered before you win the game with its ferocious ability. It's also a solid dork and can help you cast stuff faster. I'd definitely consider it.

Dragonlord Dromoka is very good vs. control. I'd also recommend Grand Abolisher. Though the elder dragon can't be countered or easily damaged, and puts your opponents on a reasonable clock. Try it out if you're having trouble against control.

Loyal Retainers is just nuts with Survival of the Fittest and Fauna Shaman. I'm sure you see why. Obviously it helps if you have a solid amount of legendary creatures... like Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Dragonlord Dromoka, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, etc. Loyal Retainers is also amazing with Reveillark, which I would also recommend. Great against control as a hedge vs. wraths and such.

I've been doing some play testing today with Bloodbraid Elf and Flametongue Kavu today and I'm not all that impressed with the results. Dragonlord Dromoka seems like a likely candidate for the slot as it tidies up the high end of my pod curve and gives me a sweet fatty to protect my spells. Reveillark has been doin ye olde in and out for a few months now and I doubt he's bouncing back in.

I totally dig what Avacyn, Angel of Hope can do for the list but I feel its not going to make the cut in the curve as I would need to slot something out just to fit it. Loyal Retainers is definitely value town when I have access to survival of the fittest or other such goodies but the same kind of shenanigans are often perpetrated by Karmic Guide and I feel loyal retainers is just too narrow to benefit the list.

I picked up a Dragonlord Dromoka today and played soem rounds wit her in the 99. was playing against 2 reanimator decks and a mono blue artifact deck that seemed very solitairish so she wasnt relevant and didnt come up. still got high hopes for her though!

Have you considered Spike Feeder? There is an infinite life/infinite damage combo with Archangel of Thune.

@Deeb yes ive considered spikefeeder for a long time but ive come to the conclusion that spikefeeder on its own is pretty bad and can and will proove to be a dead draw as often as it could win games.

Ive learned that skewing a deck list into too many alt wincons caN Hurt the overall power of the list. this decks main wincon is kiki-jiki combo, and the combos with marath Are only in here because each piece at its core is very powerful in the token aggro alt wincon and earns its slot on its own.

Thanks for the suggestion! Id love to here your counter arguements or other suggestions for the list and +1s are appreciated!
