Sideboard

Maybeboard

Enchantment (1)

Creature (4)

A deck with no monsters, no real source of damage output to players, no counter spells, and it's mono black... well thats gross....

WRONG!

This deck is extremely fun and competitive with monster heavy decks. Basically, the point of this deck is to destroy your opponent's mana base while keeping the board clear of monsters. This allows you to paralyze your opponent's late game, lets you to smack them with Mutavault and Spawning Pool for some minor damage each turn, and keeps the pace of the game in your hands. Eventually your opponent will either concede because he/she cannot play anything or die a slow death. Think of this deck like a control deck, but instead of countering spells, it is aimed at destroying land so your opponent can't play anything in the firstplace.

Key Cards

Smallpox, Death Cloud, Rain of Tears , and Crucible of Worlds- Destroy opponent's mana without really affecting yours... thank you Crucible of Worlds.

Mutilate, Damnation, Languish and Drown in Sorrow- For those pesky little creatures. We don't want any of them now do we?

Pooling Venom is perfect to poison the hearts of anyone foolish enough to enter these blighted lands.

Batterskull serves as a late game finisher and as a source of life gain. Also, it can be discarded early game if need be.

Surgical Extraction and Sadistic Sacrament allow us to hollow out our opponents decks. We can target any problem cards. Personally, I like to remove all of their nonbasic lands. These cards destroy tron land bases and can keep us from getting beaten by lantern by removing their key cards.

Oblivion Stone great removal for any card on the board. Cough cough... (only in this deck as a mainboard agains lantern control) but hey, it can do other stuff too.

The Poisoned Lands We Walk

Marsh Flats allows us to fetch continuously for swamps with Crucible of Worlds.

Mutavault and Spawning Pool allow us to damage our opponents consistently each turn.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth lets us get the most value out of our Mutilate.

Vesuva allows us to copy our Mutavault or swamps. It's a great utility land to do whatever we need it to. It can fetch, it can attack, it can generate mana, and it's sexy.

Mikokoro, Center of the Sea Allows us to draw.

What We Throw to the Side

Chalice of the Void to counter burn.

Contaminated Ground to counter burn or decks running less nonbasic lands. This would replace Surgical Extraction and Sadistic Sacrament.

Pithing Needle targets problem cards.

Polluted Bonds accelerates opponents death, but is kind of slow. (This card is on the chopping block, so suggestions are welcome).

Let sickness and blight take its grasp. Let it into your heart, feel it in your veins, and in your chest as death enters your lungs. Take the hands of the sickened in yours, for you shall join them sooner than not. Oh how the plague has left its accursed mark; you shall feel the decrepit filth as it creeps to corrupts the body and blood of those in its path. Oh, the plague!
