I'd like to thank everybody who contributed to this deck, either by giving +1, adding a comment, suggesting cards or giving a heads up. Thanks to you, we made Rank 1 on Tuesday and I'm so happy about it!

I also slightly updated the primer.

plasmor99 I don't see the value in Wall of Kelp. It has a very high cmc for it's value and also the 2 Mana for 1 Token per round isn't that good in my opinion. It could be viable when you happen to not have any other defenders in your hand or in late game when mana is not an issue anymore. For 2 cmc I can get defenders with 0/4 - 0/6 so it didn't make the cut.

DanteGrey Amazing card, I'll playtest it! Thanks!

Jouke58 No problem and thank you!

Howling mine is 2 mana for a card a turn for every player.

With arcades out, wall of kelp is 2 mana for a card a turn and a chump blocker.

Hi,

I like your take on Arcades, the Strategist as an aggressive tempo-deck!

To make it even more explosive and because you're probably drawing a lot of cards during the game you could consider Burgeoning and Exploration. But you'd have to up your land count by 1 or 2 then.

I also have the feeling that you could increase the amount of walls in your deck even further. While goldfishing there were situations where I played walls on turn 2 and 3, turn 4 Arcades, the Strategist and no walls to follow up on turn 5 to cash in on his first ability.

Because the deck is built around Arcades, the Strategist you might also include Lightning Greaves to keep him alive if you play him on turn 4 with no counter backup.

I'd also recommend to try Wall of Kelp out because in goldfishing i was sometimes running out of walls too quick and this creature will really help to refill your hand at a very efficient cost.

You could maybe cut 1 or 2 of the buffs.

That's all. Have fun!

Giving your walls vigilance is somethings that is a must with these decks I feel like. While Arcades allows your walls to attack with awesome power, we still can't forget one thing: Creatures with defender are some of the best blockers out there. For this I'd recommend cards like Brave the Sands, Oathsworn Giant, Heliod, God of the Sun, and Serra's Blessing (you could also do Akroma's Memorial if you are feeling extra mean).

Dazzling Ramparts is a good way to tap down dangerous creatures/commanders.

Bant Charm is also good. It can tuck a commander, counter a spell, or take something out. Insidious Will is also good. You have the option of countering something, or even better (by better I mean hilarious), turning someone's removal spell targeting Arcades or something like that and taking out their commander.

Just some of my thoughts.

Um . . . it posted twice for some reason. Sorry

Eerie Interlude and Ghostway can be great cards to avoid mass removal and capitalize Arcades's ability.

why no Fog Bank?

maybe Spidersilk Armor? reach is strong

Urza's Incubator and Kindred Discovery naming walls might be good, too!

you could use a lot more ramp for a green deck, ramp such as Birds of Paradise, Sylvan Caryatid, Azorius Signet,Selesnya Signet,Simic Signet, Talisman of Progress Talisman of Unity,Prismatic Lens for mana fixing, all the artifacts are mainly good cuz u can turn 1 them with sol ring and mana crypt/vault so they're a lot more fair in a meta without those, they all let you do something for 4 mana on turn 3,including your commander!

Walls generally don't cost very much CMC wise. Herald's Horn is probably a better choice over incubator.

Also Teferi's Protection is good against mass removal.
