Update: 3 Oct 2017
Went to a MTG shop I don't normally go to for FNM after this most recent rotation in Standard and won the night. If you've followed any of the MTG posts/articles it seems that Temur Energy would quickly make the top tiers since it's toughest competition got completely gutted with rotation. This version of the deck is one I've been working on for a while and have made only slight changes with the inclusion of Ixalan.
I was at the Denver Grand Prix and was blown away at how those guys pulled Temur to win both 1st and 2nd. Their wins gave me what I had been lacking as far as Sideboard structure went, so I have to give credit there, and watching/learning from them on how to play this deck is largely responsible for my success since then.
Sideboard Guide
The game is pretty straight forward with this deck, but it's always been the sidebaord/game two and three which really got me. So here's what I've learned:
If playing against Ramunap Red-4 Longtusk Cub (On the Draw)-4 Servant of the Conduit (On the Play)-1 Skysovereign, Consul Flagship-1 Carnage Tyrant+2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance +2 Sweltering Suns+2 Aethersphere Harvester
Abzan Tokens-4 Harnessed Lightning-2 Abrade-3 Merfolk Branchwalker+3 Negate+2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance+2 Sweltering Suns+2 Appetite for the Unnatural
B/G Constrictor or Mirror-4 Longtusk Cub-2 Magma Spray+1 Abrade+1 Confiscation Coup+2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance+2 Sweltering Suns
Control/Ramp-2 Magma Spray-2 Abrade-1 Harnessed Lightning-1 Skysovereign, Consul Flagship+3 Negate+2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance+1 Confiscation Coup
Monument-2 Magma Spray-4 Harnessed Lightning-1 Skysovereign, Consul Flagship+2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance+3 Negate+2 Appetite for the Unnatural
These are the decks I've seen so far since rotation. I also had solutions for Mono Black Zombies ... but that's a dead deck now. I'm also very skeptical for Ramunap Red decks since they really lost a significant portion of their Aggro component. I played one kid who attempted to make adjustments and added with some more removal and tried to substitute some of his lost cards with Glory-Bound Initiate. The same sidebooard strategy worked just fine and I beat him 2-0. I also expect that Pummler Decks will see a rise in usage since it was a pretty cool deck before all that Cat Combo crap and I think people just forgot about it ... now that all their other fun decks have gone away, I foresee them heading back to energy.
Anyways, feedback is greatly appreciated, especially with the sideboard.
