Doran found a home in Modern

Modern

Dreno33

Maybeboard

The primary focus of this deck is, essentially, "Value > CMC". So, each individual creature must provide and strong board presence on its own. Now, the other focus of this deck is to be a very strong and viable deck without ever seeing Doran, the Siege Tower.

You would be surprised to see how quick a deck of this type can take off, or can withstand others.

Creatures:

Spellskite - So glad this does not have defender. This is my all-star in the deck. It already shuts down numerous decks including Hex-Chant, Splinter Twin, Zoo, and many more. But now he can easily become a 4/4 beater.

Tarmogoyf - Huge Modern Staple, but don't forget he still has a bigger butt that we don't utilize to its full potential. Don't worry though, Doran will put that ass to good use.

Athreos, God of Passage - Sort of a last minute addition. Even with Doran out, a 4/4 beater for 3 mana is great, but the true power is the 2nd ability. With this only Path to Exiles can deal with my creatures, and usually my Spellskites eat those up for me. With so many creatures, either choice the opponent makes is still giving me a huge advantage. This card has "Value > CMC" written all over it.

I will continue the description later.
