Sideboard

Enchantment (3)

Artifact (3)

Creature (2)

A modern mill deck based on sheer cards milled to mana cost ratio. Need to tune the sideboard but the main is pretty well finished.

Main Board: To begin with, the three power cards or staples, of any mill deck: Archive Trap, Glimpse the Unthinkable, and Mind Funeral. Glimpse is the cheapest, most powerful/card efficient mill card available in modern. Archive Trap can be a huge blowout as well as being a powerful card just to cast late game. Mind Funeral has several special benefits, 1. it mills four lands strait up, limiting the likely hood that they draw the land they need to drop a high cost spell, however this also increases the likely hood that your opponent will draw into gas 2. its non-terminal, meaning other than four lands it has no numerical limitations allowing it to be a possible finisher card in the late game. Next we have the support cards: Breaking, Haunting Echoes, Surgical Extraction, Thought Scour, and Visions of Beyond. Breaking, because Glimpse is so good you wish you could run 8. Haunting Echoes is the curve topper, the late game finisher, if it resolves then more often than not the game is over. Surgical Extraction, this is the decks sniper rifle, the moment you mill a powerful bomb or a key combo piece Extract it and you never have to deal with it again, it has the added bonus of potentially being free allowing you to surprise your opponent while tapped out. Thought Scour, a cantrip that mills, great. Visions of Beyond, a cantrip that can scale strait into Ancestral Recall, 100% ridiculous, Next is the creature sweet: Hedron Crab, Snapcaster Mage, Delver of Secrets, and Sword of Body and Mind. Hedron crab is its own mill engine, he scales off of fetch lands and Oboro, he also blocks well and holds a sword. Snapcaster gives powerful chosen recursion to all my spells, he also blocks and holds a sword. Delver of Secrets can be a cheap, scary obstacle and can fly a sword hit into the opponent. Although Sword is not a creature, it is creature dependent, Sword can do massive damage get you ahead in the mill race and give you creature advantage. Last but not least we have the Mana Base: Polluted Delta/Flooded Strand, Ghost Quarter, Oboro, Palace in the Clouds, Shelldock Isle, and Watery Grave. Fetch lands are always good, for fixing, for thinning, and even for speed/surprise, but in this deck the power is increased because they double the amount of cards milled with Hedron Crab. Ghost Quarter can destroy they're fixing and sometimes get you free Archive Trap activation. Oboro's bounce effect guarantees a crab activation each turn. The hideaway can net you cheap 5 cast cards like trap or echos. The shock land are the best fixing and can be hit with both fetchs.
