So I've been looking through all the piles of modern decks at Mtg Salvation for a deck that I thought would be a fun control deck to play. I currently run a soul sisters deck Divinity of Sands so I wanted to make sure that if I got bored of agro I'd have a fun control deck that I could play. And so, with the guidance of this thread I built a R/W lockdown deck.

The main goal of the deck is to achive a total lock by running Leyline of Sanctity and Ensnaring Bridge. It will then either win by burning them to death or swinging with the 1/1 tokens generated by Goblin Assault . The game will run long if you can lock, which you will.

In addition to the main theme of a solid lock the deck also runs the rather annoying package of Flagstones of Trokair and Boom/Bust . A turn 2 destruction of one of their lands is extremely punishing. Even more annoying for them is a turn 5 land wipe. There is almost no reason you shouldn't destroy all lands on turn 5 or 6 if you have your lock pieces and a Goblin Assault out. Also note that you can use Ghost Quarter and Arid Mesa 's sac abilities to dodge your side of Boom/Bust . Destroying two of their non-basics on turn 2 or 3 with a Boom/Bust and a Ghost Quarter can really ruin junds day and is most likely in your best intrest even if it does put you back a turn as well.
