Sideboard

Blue/Black and Esper Dragons deck have been getting a lot of attention lately and I wanted to build something with Dragonlord Ojutai. I didn't like the mana base of the Esper list. So i decided to cut the black and run blue/white. Upsides of running blue/white compared to the other control decks is that it has by far the best mana base in any control deck. Which allows less mulligans and more action!

Win Cons -

Dragonlord Ojutai- Best Dragon in Standard. Having Hexproof and being able to swing when you have protection spells in your hand is so strong. When Ojutai's ability triggers you get to refuel your hand while doing five damage.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion - Makes tokens to block other creatures and destroy most creatures with trample using its minus ability.

Control Spells -

Anticipate- Being able to look at the top three cards is very helpful. We can find that one counter, removal, draw spell, or even land.

Secure the Waste- This card is very interesting. It is there to help stall to get to the last game by chump blocking. Also can win us the game sometimes being at instant speed.

Dissolve - One of the best counter spells

Silumgar's Scorn - A lot of people love to tap out in the early game so using the card as basically a force spike is really sweet. By late game you have had plenty of times to get a Dragonlord Ojutai into your hand to make it a hard counter spell.

Devouring Light - Can be a free cost with white tokens on the battlefield from Elspeth Sun's Champion or Secure the Waste. Only downside is the creature has to attack,

End Hostilities- Great board wipe. Try to have at least two white on turn five every game, Also deals with bestow creatures.

Perilous Vault/Ugin the Spirit Dragon- Mostly hear to exlie any annoying enchantments/planeswalkers/creatures that may have resolved but other then that it is a great board wipe. Ugin can also be a win con but is in the deck mostly to remove/board wipe.

Last Breath - Great way to gain some life by killing your own token or by just removing pest that have a power of two or less.

Valorous Stance - Destroying a creature with a butt of 4 or greater or for protecting my Ojutai from removal/board wipes. Even out own board wipes.

Dig Through Time- Best Draw Spell In Standard

First match I was playing a Red/Black Aggro deck. Game 1 he was able to gain so much life and had me down pretty low. He started getting cocky but that changed after I played Elspeth. Game 2 went pretty much the same, but the only difference is that Ojutai took over instead of Elspeth. (2-0)

Second match I played a Jeskai/America Control deck. In game 1 I knew that resolving a planeswalker would win me the game because it is hard for him to deal with. I was able to play Elspeth and just protected my soldiers from board wipes. Game 2 he didn't expect Brimaz and when he finally dealt with it I was able to play an Elspeth and he scooped. (2-0)

Third match I played Green/Red Aggro and game one i started the game off getting mana screwed, but my deck was still able to prevail. Game 2 he was able to resolve some nasty planeswalkers. We were both at 3 and i top decked a Ugin to win me the game. Best match of the night. (2-0)

The last match was Mono-Red Aggro. I was ready to get revenge. The first game I had the best hand with last breath, dissolve, and secure the waste. I just controlled the first match. My health didn't even got below 15. Game 2 he brought in Eidolon of the Great Revel. Which is a strong card against control but turned out to be he downfall. I was playing Secure the Waste where it cost more then 3 and was able to kill he Eidolon by baiting him to attack me, and won the game with Ojutai. Revenge was sweet! (2-0)

I went 4-0, earning first place this FNM.
