You snap your head at the sound, something you know and fear in unequal measure. A tearing, a screaming, a rending of space itself
Phyrexia is coming.
The Portal screams to life before you, spitting out Walkers to stabilize it. Without Hesitation, you know what you must do.
Stop them.
=====
The Phyrexian Invasion is a Challenge AI deck played akin to a mixture of the Hydra and the Horde.
Hero cards are Legal, up to 3 per player.
The Portal will cast the top [1 + (Number of Players)] cards of its Library per turn without paying their Mana Costs.
Its creatures can be attacked directly, as can the library doing so will mill it for one card per point of damage, reflecting damage to the Portal itself. The Portals library cannot be searched or revealed. If a card were to be drawn or placed into its hand, those cards are then cast without paying their mana costs on the Portals next turn.
All choices that the Portal must make will be made for it by the Players.
The Portal starts play with 2-4 Walkers in play, depending on the difficulty. Walkers will not attack, but instead will tap and deal 1 damage to each player present simultaneously. If a Walker is already tapped before the combat Phase, it will deal no damage this way. Tapping the Walkers is not an activated ability. Each Walker on the field will give a passive bonus to the Portal, preventing one damage per Walker of any damage done to the Library.
As an example:
The Portal has 4 Walkers in Play. Each combat phase they will tap and deal 4 damage to each player. All damage done to the Library is reduced by 4.
If a Walker is destroyed, it will pulse and try to call a backup out of the portal put the top two cards of the Portals library into the Graveyard and put any Walkers revealed this way into play.
In Multiplayer, Creatures will attack anyone, but all damage MUST be taken by something, be it a creature or a Player. Decide amongst yourselves.
Whenever a permanent is put into the AIs graveyard, check to see if it meets the following criteria:
From Anywhere: Noncreature Artifact or Enchantment
From Play: Creature with [8 < (P+T)] or [6 < (P or T)] or [An Ability]
If it meets one of the above criteria, Roll on the table below with a d10.
- Each Player gains 2 life.
- Each Player gains 4 life.
- Each Player draws a card.
- Each Player draws 2 cards.
- Each Player gains 4 life and draws a card.
- Each Player raises a permanent from their graveyard to their hand.
- Each Player mills the Portal for 3.
- Each Player chooses up to 2 of the Portals creatures and taps them. They do not untap during their next untap step.
- Each Player chooses a creature the Portal controls. Those creatures are sacrificed.
- Roll again.
The Goal is to completely empty the field No Phyrexians, and No Portal. Stop the Invasion.
