Perhaps Mistmeadow Witch could fit in there ;)

Hello Joumba, that is a great suggestion. I am not sure where to make room for it. I am planning on removing the Quietus Spike, so that could get me 1 copy of the Mistmeadow Witch. I don't have evasion for my guys and while the spike is neat, it's been kind of a dead draw for me the times I have played the deck. Maybe one of the Nobilis of War. They are amazing but having 3 is kind of win more for the deck. It can stall the battlefield long enough to draw into 2 as well as 3 of them. Also, this deck is pretty old. I have not had time to examine newer sets for better cards. So I appreciate the suggestion and will get a few copies of the witch to fit into the deck. thank you!

Also Cloudshift > Turn to Mist and Skullclamp instead of the other artifacts would really help with drawing :D

Just suggestions mate!

Hello, miampizza and thank you for the suggestions. I have not looked at more recent sets so have not seen those before. I like Cloudshift and will give it a try. But Turn to Mist lets me use it defensively as well for when my opponent throws some kind of surprise at me. But at it's mana cost I do like Cloudshift. Honor the Pure is better than Glorious Anthem. But the anthem helps with the Springjack Shepherd for what they call devotion now. So I am going to get copies of Honor the Pure and try them out too. Skullclamp is amazing. But my casual group has an informal ban on that card so it won't find it's way into this deck.

Thank you again for your advice!

Cloudshift CAN also be used to dodge removals. The blinked creature will count as a new entity unrelated to the old target. thanks for the considerations :D

Since I feel like bothering you tonight, I'm going to throw in every white cards that I like that could be used with devotion:

Dictate of Heliod, Angelic Destiny, Grand Abolisher, Spear of Heliod, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Wingmate Roc, Archetype of Courage, Nyx-Fleece Ram (ALMOST A GOAT!!!), Avacyn, Guardian Angel.

I hope you find at least 1 of them a litle inspirational :P

Those are all great cards. I can't believe the Grand Abolisher one. I actually saw the Spear of Heliod on a deck here on the site and thought I might try that one too. The others are either not in flavor or would just be adding win more to the deck I think. Or outside of my price range for the deck like that land and the roc. Even though it is legendary I think the spear would be better for casual games than even Honor of the Pure. And I might try the dictate out. I have been looking for a reason to remove ajani too. Even though he is great he is not that flavorful with the deck and he only has one ability useful to the deck. Man that abolisher is sick.

I'm glad you like :)

I thought about suggesting Godsend but since this is casual it might just make you lose your friends xD

Yes, i think that would make me lose a few.

Hello, a_n00b. I have been considering swapping out stuff to fit those in. That is why they are in the maybeboard. My only problem with the card is that I like that the other enchantments affect all my creatures. But Leyline of the Meek is free devotion if it is in the opening hand and played for free. So I have been leaning into switching to them. I may drop Ajani, the 2 anthems and the warhammer and playtest a set of them.

love the deck! i feel Eldrazi Monument would be pretty good here too

Yes SpittyBoo the monument would be great. I will add it to the board. At the moment I am testing out the Leylines though. There may not be room for any copies of it.

I've kinda thought of making the same type of deck, except using Conjurer's Closet to flicker every single turn. I'd consider using Obelisk of Urd and/or Coat of Arms to make them bigger and meaner.

Thanks for suggesting cards for the deck! I like the idea of Conjurer's Closet. It seems interchangeable with Galepowder Mage. I prefer cards that are white for the chroma/devotion trigger for Springjack Shepherd and the mage can be tutored for with Kithkin Harbinger. Obelisk of Urd and Coat of Arms are both great alternatives to Eldrazi Monument. I prefer the monument because it makes them indestructible which amuses me. And they do not need that much of a buff, You will get a lot of goats pretty quick once your engine comes online. But those are great suggestions and would be great additions to the deck.

how about Reveillark, Restoration Angel? maybe sideboard Crusade?

July 3, 2015 1:11 p.m.

MagicMarc says... #19

Hello SpittyBoo, thank you for your suggestions. All of those are amazing cards!

Reveillark would be perfect as a sideboard answer to a removal heavy deck. I actually do not stall from removal very much. My win conditions are from ETB effects. Once they are on the field all of the flicker effects protect them from removal. But I am adding that to the sideboard. (Which does not exist yet so the 'lark will be the 1st one in it!
Restoration Angel is an awesome upgrade to add to the deck. I will see if I can find a trade for them. Another great card.
Crusade would be a nice game 2 switch for the anthems once I see my opponent's deck. I will put it in and find some.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Trading Post maybe

July 3, 2015 1:43 p.m.

MagicMarc says... #21

Hey 4W3S0M3. Thanks for mentioning Trading Post. That card is super with amazing synergy with Springjack Pasture. I got a playset and tested with them and realized a couple of things. Firstly, it needs to be built around for what it does to shine in a deck and it kind of duplicates the pasture while being more targetable and taking longer to put into play. I think it is great as part of a combo engine or as card advantage in a recursion deck. Neither of which works with this particular deck. I am working on something that focuses on abusing Trading Post but it won't be showing in this deck.

Thank you though for taking the time to check out my deck!

Hi I'm looking for a budget deck how can i take out akromas memorial to swap with something else?

July 23, 2015 9:12 a.m.

GOAT_LORD says... #23

Just saying why not intangible virtue?

July 23, 2015 11:05 a.m.

MagicMarc says... #24

Hello, GOAT_LORD. You can swap out Akroma's Memorial for any artifact or white enchantment or even a creature that enhances your creatures and/or your goats. I use the memorial and the monument mostly for entertainment value because of how unkillable either of those makes my goat tokens. But any card that enhances their power is fine, you just need a +1/+1 to be able to attack for damage with the goats. Intangible Virtue is a good way to do that. I personally do not use it because I prefer cards that buff all of my creatures and not just some of them selectively. But you could swap any of the buffing cards out and use Intangible Virtue in their place and see how it runs.

GOAT_LORD says... #25

Thanks MagicMarc, I made a few changes to your deck and it seems to run really well with intangible virtue. The 7 mana cost on Akroma's Memorial didn't get the over all buffs against players like red aggro who hit hard on turn 3. I love this deck I also like Mist meadow Skulk in this deck. Protection from creatures with power 3 or greater really helps you stall for a really affective chroma count in the early game with Springjack Shepherd. The Akroma's Memorial is a great card but I prefer a early game +1/+1 and a affected like vigilance or first strike to make an opposing threat in the early game. I've been looking for a big artifact like Akroma's Memorial but couldn't find that does the same thing. Obelisk or Urd didn't work either because it high mana cost. Let me know if you found a artifact that works :D
