Thopters + Ghostfire Blade = Win

I don't mind reexamining cards at all, but just so you know: Everything I've previously considered is at Full Maybeboard for Izzet Thoptorzz (OGW Standard).

Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions!

WIN-CON: Attack from the air with pumped-up Thopters. Key cards include Hangarback Walker (perhaps the best 2-drop in Standard), Pia and Kiran Nalaar (Thopter generator and Hangarback sac' outlet extraordinaire), Whirler Rogue (almost as good as the Nalaars), Thopter Spy Network (relentless Thopter pressure and draw), and Ghostfire Blade. Having so many key 4-drops is a big constraint on the deck, but it's so worth it!

ALTERNATE WIN-CON: Burn or punch through for some bigger-than-Thopter damage. Key cards include Exquisite Firecraft to the face, or some combo of Reality Smasher, Wandering Fumarole , Whirler Rogue (for her second ability) and Ghostfire Blade.

PREVENT OPPONENT WIN-CONS: Answer threats before they hit the table with Horribly Awry or Void Shatter , or after they've resolved with Fiery Impulse and Exquisite Firecraft .

MOVE TOWARDS THE WIN: Thopter Engineer for a Haste anthem and an early Thopter.

GENERAL VALUE: Stormchaser Mage is just a great 2-drop. It's too bad he doesn't play better with Ghostfire Blade.

LAND: Shivan Reef is great for fast fixing. For a midrange deck on a budget, tap-lands like Wandering Fumarole and Swiftwater Cliffs are OK. And Ruins of Oran-Rief is just awesome in this deck.

SIDEBOARD:

I think of this as a 75-card deck; here are some thoughts on the other 15 cards:

ROTATING CARDS:

I've loved Thopters since the original Ornithopter back in Revised, and I've wanted to build a Thopter-centric EDH or Standard deck ever since picking up a Pia and Kiran Nalaar at the Origins prerelease. At long last, here it is!

Inspiration for the deck originally came from SaffronOlive's Standard UR Thopters, Mark Higgs' U/R Thopters, and Inez' UR Aggro. It's continued to evolve thanks to your comments and some of my favorite Thopter and Prowess decks here at T/O.

Please don't forget to +1 Upvote if you like it :-)

The deck's back (after the failed experiment of last FNM)! And though the final tally wasn't that impressive, I'm super-pleased with how it played. Holding off ~$600 4C Rally decks and an ~$800 Grixis Control deck was just immensely satisfying! :-)

Match-ups and results

0-1-1 v. Grixis Control. I got demolished the first game, and had a long, hard fight to a draw in Game 2. The draw was my opponent's only "loss" of the afternoon, so I felt really good about it.

2-1 v. 4C Rally. This was a surprisingly good match-up. Even the loss was close (despite me mull'ing to 5 and then keeping a questionable hand).

0-2 v. R/B Eldrazi Disruption. Ouch. This was an Eldrazzi Aggro shell, but with full sets of Thought-Knot Seer, Duress, and Transgress the Mind on the mainboard ... and it was beyond brutal.

1-1 v. 4C Rally. Another good match-up. Lost the first game but it was close, and though it took me forever to get the last 2 points of damage, the second game win was never in question.
