Modern Control Angels

The goal is to control the game by having both myself and my permanents safeguarded with Hexproof and Protection, keep gaining Life and dominating combat phases. This way there's very little the opponent can do to win. We can do this either early game with ramp, or we can hold on until later with strong interactions and Lifegain

Helpful Spells:

• Noble Hierarch ramps and grants Exalted
• Giver of Runes protects another creature from removal, damage or can make it unblockable
• Bishop of Wings gives a great Life boost and recycles Angels upon death. Nice blocker too
• Giada, Font of Hope ramps and fortifies Angels
• Brave the Sands gives Vigilance and double blocking, a very handy combination
• Commune with Nature digs for Angels and filters the deck

Angels:

• Archangel of Tithes provides great control over combat, and benefits a lot from Brave the Sands
• Metropolis Reformer grants me Hexproof, is a deterrent blocker and a good attacker later
• Righteous Valkyrie is an excellent Life engine and the core strenght of the deck
• Sigarda, Font of Blessings protects other creatures and speeds up plays
• Shalai, Voice of Plenty gives more Hexproof and can be a good mana sink late game

Interactions:

• Path to Exile cheap removal at instant speed
• Silence delays enemy turns

Sideboard:

• Creeping Corrosion against Affinity and other Artifact based decks
• Heroic Intervention protects from boardwipes, removal or a heavy combat event
• Linvala, Keeper of Silence is good against certain decks relying on abilities
• On Thin Ice is extra removal if needed
• Flowering of the White Tree gives more power especially to Legendary creatures
• Rest in Peace is a staple graveyard-hate card

Main Combo: Archangel of Tithes + Brave the Sands

If we have Sands and at least one copy of Tithes in play, combat becomes a hard decision for the opponent, as they have to waste mana attacking and defending against creatures with high toughness that don't tap, have Flying and can double block
