This is something I threw together after learning about the card Through the Breach. It paired so nicely with Sneak Attack that I had to build around them.

Your main intent will be to utilize Through the Breach or Sneak Attack to open the floodgates of the heavens and unleash myriads of myriads of angelic forces upon your opponent.
Plateau is the bread and butter of the deck. Both colors are covered when you tap this rugged outcrop of earth.

Sacred Foundry is the next best thing; it’s a plateau with a price.

Arid Mesa lets us hand pick the land we need, when we need it.

Mountains give us red mana. Mountains have been used to symbolize governments or kingdoms.

Plains give us white mana. Plains have been used to denote battlegrounds.

Mox Pearl gives us access to another white mana, and can be handily played even after you play a turn’s land drop.

Mox Ruby gives us access to another red mana, and is also unrestricted even if a land was already played this turn.

Mana Tithe will stop an opponent in their tracks, particularly in the early game when mana is in short supply. Use it to protect your strategy as you assemble it, or else halt a potential threat. ”Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin—-You have been weighed in the scales, and found to be deficient.”

Rebuff the Wicked is another fantastic defensive measure we can utilize to protect our strategy. Use it to sidestep pesky stumbling blocks our opponent may try to use to hinder us, from direct damage spells to exile effects to plain kill spells. ”Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I need fear no harm...”

Cloudshift has a dual purpose in this build. It’s intended role is to blink our Angels to avoid the need to sacrifice them during our end step. But don’t forget that the card may be used to dodge any spell the opponent may cast which targets a specific creature.

Ephemerate plays much the same as the aforementioned card. Be mindful of any nasty ETB effects triggered by your creature returning to play; sometimes it may be more advantageous to let it die.

Enlightened Tutor ostensibly becomes 4 more ways to make sure Sneak Attack finds its way onto the battlefield.

Gamble will mainly be used to pilfer a specific Angel from our library; more often than not Iona, Shield of Emeria. She has the most catastrophically destructive impact as far as board presence is concerned. Play her and you can usually breathe easy, having bought some time to maneuver.

Through the Breach is one way for us to call forth the heavenly hosts. Simply pay the discounted cost and a winged messenger takes her station. Every situation is different, but usually you’ll want to blink your cheap cherub to avoid losing it by turn’s end.

Sneak Attack is our preferred, reusable conduit to the heavens. Again, be sure to have a blink effect at the ready.

Yes, this is where we derive the ‘Halo’ part of our deckname’s pun from; and yes, if you have any background on religious iconography at all you’ll already know the halo, or sun-disc, is of pagan origin and has nothing to do with the biblical portrayal of angelic creatures. But it was witty and clever and I don’t have many witty or clever thoughts, so it’s staying. Hmph!

Iona, Shield of Emeria leads the charge. Her ETB effect is crippling, to say the least. Mono colored decks are shut down. Two- or three- colored decks will be limping, and rainbow decks...probably weren’t that much of a threat to begin with. Here’s a tip: if you’ve shut down one color, and your opponent actually has something useful in the other slice of their deck’s pie, when they cast it just blink Iona again and pick that particular color when she renters the field. sigh...scoops

Avacyn, Angel of Hope is a tank. High powered and heavily defensible, she also casts a shadow of protection upon your other angels. An invincible angelic army? Sounds about right

Akroma, Angel of Wrath+Akroma, Angel of Fury are quite a pair. Between them there isn’t much that can get through. One can attack and still be ready to block your opponent’s turn, the other can be buffed with excess mana lying around to hammer additional damage through. Yikes.

Gisela, Blade of Goldnight simultaneously enhances whatever damage you can manage to output, while halving whatever your opponent manages to get by your defenses. Beautiful.

Exquisite Archangel is your ace in the hole. ”When you absolutely, positively, gotta not lose the game and get all your life back—-accept no substitutes.”

Chancellor of the Annex pairs wonderfully with Iona. If being color blocked wasn’t bad enough already, now whatever spell they possibly could play now costs an additional 1 or it’s countered.

Angelic Arbiter is another tedious, painfully debilitating card designed to wear down morale. It’s the equivalent of trying to take on a boss in a Final Fantasy game, only to have silence or berserk or a similar status ailment cast upon you. It’s difficult enough to chip away at 10,000+HP without needing to work around that!

Angel of Serenity is quite the utility card. When she enters play, handpick three nuisances out of the opposing player’s roster of creatures, then exile them. Better still, they can even be in the graveyard. Reanimator decks beware. Incidentally, and this is quite rare, but should the need arise remember that you can choose to exile your own creatures. I.e, if some end up in the graveyard for whatever reason, simply play Angel of Serenity, choose the 3 most useful targets, then when you Cloudshift or Ephemerate the Angel of Serenity those exiled cards will return to your hand, ready to be played next turn.

I’d appreciate any useful suggestions as long as they don’t fundamentally alter the core strategy. I’d also be most appreciative of any insight on improving the sideboard. I...struggle building sideboards.
