Drana, Liberator of Malakir dealing her damage in the first-strike-phase is something i overlooked, that makes her a lot more appealing.

I never played with Metallic Mimic because I mostly viewed it as a combo enabler (which I try to avoid). But in combination with the package of Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star it makes a lot of sense. It puts my opponents on a clock but still gives them an opportunity to counterplay.

What about Altar of the Brood ? Seems like a inclusion with all the creatures coming back. Thoughts?

Two quick questions: what are your thoughts about Kalain, Reclusive Painter? It ensures Marchesa enters the battlefield on turn 3 with a +1+1 counter.

And how about Marton Stromgald for pumping your creatures?

Pass44 - Kalain seems solid but the fact that it doesn't protect Marchesa as she reenters is a major downside. Good budget option though. I currently run Metallic Mimic/Sage of Fables/Vigean Graftmage for this purpose, granted they pull double duty for etb/death trigger abuse and protects Marchesa every time she comes back also. All of these only work for a T4 Marchesa though whereas Kalain is T3 and protected.

Marton I used to run, but the lack of haste made him spotty at best. When he panned out, he did push some serious damage though. I eventually switched it out for Legion Loyalist and have been thrilled with the surprise first strike, trample, and can't be blocked by tokens (which has been relevant more often than I would've thought). The other problem is Marton pushes so much damage that staying off the throne can be an issue.

Alright, I haven't exactly kept up with updates. Here over the last several months I've added 8 cards to my list, but at this point I don't remember what all was cut. Pitiless Plunderer, Syr Konrad, the Grim, Saw in Half, Seize the Spotlight, Plumb the Forbidden, Mahadi, Emporium Master, Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, and Kardur, Doomscourge are my recent additions.

Ok, Thundering Raiju and Blood for the Blood God! in, Damnation (tentatively) and Fellwar Stone out.

Canoptek Tomb Sentinel and Greven, Predator Captain in.

Uncivil Unrest and Thran Vigil put in enormous work in my deck, they're both recent additions. They allow you to loop your creatures on anyone's turn similar to the graft effects you currently have in the deck, but they're much more reliable and aren't on bodies.

scotchtapedsleeves Yeah, Vigil is in my maybeboard... I need to pick up a copy. Uncivil Unrest is another card I need to try... I love myself some automatic +1+1 counters for etb/death abuse.

Someone said Thran Vigil allows you to recur on other people's turns, that's not true. Uncivil Unrest does though.

danner Yeah, it's only on your turn and the last creature that enters won't get a counter because it's not a legal target when Thran Vigil triggers (so it's only good with 2+ creatures re-entering unless they automatically get counters like Vigean Graftmage or Spark Double.). Even with those caveats, it's an amazing card in Marchesa.

Cmi1103 Yeah, I've been trying to get a copy for a few weeks now. I do 99.9% of my magic purchases locally and no one opened any dr who it seems like. I'm glad to hear it works as gross as I thought and ty for the suggestion.

Cmi1103 Ok, I traded for Mr. Pink last night and saw him early in a game tonight for the 1st time... and wow does this guy draw some cards. I discarded Rhystic Study because it was never needed.
