I have other suggestions if you want. First your deck needs protection. When you play green in pauper, you should always have Vines of Vastwood.

I get the idea behind Shinen of Life's Roar but most of your creatures have 1 power.

I don't know how I feel about Slaughterhorn. It implies you are going to attack with your precious creatures and they are most likely going to die.

Finally, I made this deck a couple of years ago and as much as Black souds like the better choice, I find it much more fun to play red instead. I guess it's a personnal opinion. It gives you access to First strike with cards like Incite War. There is also Fire Whip and Power of Fire.

@legendofa definitely viable. I never thought of Power of Fire, but the old Viridian Longbow combo was at the back of my mind while building this. I had seen a few decks like that floating around so I wanted to do something a bit different. I found Crown of Fury while combing through old sets and liked the multi-approach angle it has, so built around that. I’ll Maybeboard those suggestions in case someone wants to build out that version for their use.

Building off the Horrific Assault angle, you could always set your snakes on fire and whack things with them. Or just teach your snakes archery.

I would change the name of Enduring Authority to Enduring Repression, leaning into the {W}-negative aspects of authority.

Blood Artist is already a key card in a lot of combo decks, and this adds free recursion, deathtouch, and +1/+2 for just one black mana. This is probably printable at rare/mythic rare, but a safer option would be to make it trigger on either your creatures dying or your opponents' creatures, not any creature.

Enduring Hostility also feels strong, but it's a little harder to gauge. Auras like Power of Fire and Lightning Prowess give the ability to one creature for 2-3 mana, and Lightning Volley gives the ability to all creature temporarily, but they're not exactly power cards. Maybe add an additional cost, like discarding or {R}, or activate only during your turn?

Cards like Fire Whip , Power of Fire , and Viridian Longbow turn Marchesa into a rattlesnake. Warstorm Surge is also fun with Marchesa; if someone takes your monarchy, you get an assassin that kills a creature on entry at the start of your turns.
