I like the combo of Terrasymbiosis + Slime Against Humanity, but I think the Magmakin Artillerist is a card that ends out being an awkward card and might be better served as a haste enabler like Enduring Courage or maybe Kickoff Celebrations so the slime coming down can attacke right away. I see the Artillerist maybe being better vs Authority of the Consuls compared to the cards I suggested, but the others will help vs control strats that rely on boardwipes.

Note that madness costs won't get a discount by your commander. Same for Garland, Knight of Cornelia  Flip

Cut Chromatic Lantern for another two-mana rock? Can't be cast for free if discarded, nor can it ramp out your commander

Reiterate is awfully mana expensive, but I'll think about it.

I don't think Draconic Destiny would help me very much. Ashling can get quite large if I put multiple equipment on her, but I don't actually attack much with this deck.

Squee, Goblin Nabobfoil is a great idea and I can't believe I didn't think of it myself. I even own a copy already! I'll throw him in right away.

If I was going to run Glint-Horn Buccaneer I'd be running the new and improved version Magmakin Artillerist.

Valakut sucks in this deck. This deck either wins or loses 90% of games before ever reaching the 6 lands required for Valakut to come online. I used to have it in the deck, but having a land come in tapped was just not worth the 3 or maybe 6 damage I would get from the card over the course of the game.

Dust Bowl hurts because it doesn't make red mana. I really need the mana this deck makes to be red, not colorless, so I can save it for future turns. Emergence Zone and Treasure Vault are both emergency buttons. They are there to let me save some of my mana if someone removes Ashling on an opponent's turn.

I build a deck with the Mystery Booster 2 Lutri, Pauper Otter (Playtest).

Currently, I'm trying to figure out:

  1. New ways of circumventing Lutri's companion restriction that'll give me greater access to cards.

  2. Streamlining the deck. I've tested it a bunch of times and usually, it ends up in a grindy 1 vs 1 with either Shark Typhoon/Murmuring Mystic as a token generator that will ultimately win the game by combat OR by pinging the opponent to death Guttersnipe etc. (Magmakin Artillerist+Tandem Lookout/Ophidian Eye is infinite at EOT if I've 8 or more cards in hand and a restricted hand size).

Any recommendations are highly appreciated, but pls keep Lutri's companion restriction in mind.
