Durkwood Baloth
Creature — Beast
Suspend 5— (Rather than cast this card from your hand, you may pay and exile it with five time counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost. It has haste.)

I'd personally go with more than one Scute Mob and add a few Borderland Ranger . It's fairly cheap land fetch so you have a better chance at getting your large creatures out, it's a dispensable 2/2 blocker buying you time after its ETB, and Scute Mob is reliant on you having actual lands rather than the mana produced by LLanowar Elves and Leyline of Abundance so it works great for that.
Also Durkwood Baloth could be a good fit.

I think these cards are all pretty good for this budget build.

I like this deck a lot already, but it needs focus. I would cut all the extra shit like sea gate, compulsive research, ramp spells, and into the roil, then increase the core of the deck to all 4 ofs (I'm looking at you, Jhoira's Timebug). Also, since the bug can add time counters, maybe something like Aven Riftwatcher or Keldon Marauders could be good (I know these are off color).
Honestly I think going into red could be strong because of Rift Elemental, and the only really strong green card in the deck is Durkwood Baloth and that could easily be a splash. Plus, red opens up bolt, which is nice interaction.
I'm digging it tho keep brewing

Hi there, i also have been testing a Jund deck for pauper, if you want take a look at it: Jund Them All.
As you said, Jund is supposed to be built in a lot of diferent ways, so i can only suggest you some of the cards i use in mine so you can add them to your testing lot.
I personally like better Satyr Wayfinder then the Sakura-Tribe Elder, as it can stay on board while giving you an extra land and also as the "upside" of fueling your graveyard for Gurmag Angler.
Durkwood Baloth is a card i didn't know about, and i will try it for sure, it must feel good to suspended it turn 1 :D
Apart from that, i just want to suggest a couple of creatures, Thorn of the Black Rose and Wickerbough Elder, monarch is a thing in pauper and card advantage is always good, the elder is mostly a versatile card, if you have a lot of white in your meta, get to hit a Journey to Nowhere while having a 4/4 body left on the field is great.
+1 and just JUND'EM ALL!!!

This comment is based on the differences between my deck:Thulsa's Doom Quiver and this one.
Wow! I really appreciate the thought that must have gone into this. I'm anxious to hear more of your thoughts. Here are mine...
Shield of the Oversoul vs Broken Fall
The more I think about it I agree that Shield of the Oversoul is the better card. While it is not transferable to other creatures and vulnerable to destruction itself, it does protect against Shrivel and from back-to-back creature destruction in ways that Broken Fall can't.
Ponder vs. Compulsive Research
Both decks are based off of getting a certain amount of creatures in proportion to a certain amount of effects. In playtesting I often found myself with duplicates of some cards that I couldn't use effectively. For example one creature but two Neurok Stealthsuits. Being able to cycle cards in hand as well as some added card advantage I think offsets the cheaper casting cost and I like Compulsive Research better. For now...
Durkwood Baloth vs. Sedge Scorpion
While both one-drops, the first turn Sedge Scorpion followed by a Psionic Gift on turn two, is my deck's most formidable one-two punch. And since I feel the late game is already in this type of deck's favor, speed is more important than late game heft. So I like Sedge Scorpion better, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on why you think the Durkwood Baloth is the better choice here because I'm having difficulty seeing the advantage.
Mana Leak vs. Thornweald Archer
I like the addition of counterspells, but I feel like the deck needs lots of deathtouch creatures to function. There will be significant creature hate. My intent is not just to use the deathtouch creatures for shooting other creatures but also for attacking and for creature removal even if it's 1:1. That said, I'd like to playtest this variant a bit more...

Take a look at mono-green stompy, its a stable competitive modern architype that runs very similarly. Leatherback Baloth provides some more hard hitting power and Vines of Vastwood provide protection. I'm a fan of Asceticism. Avatar of the Resolute will outperform Wild Beastmaster, especially run alongside Strangleroot Geist. Not a fan of seige or scalelords compared to some other value-generating enchants at that cost or less- Durkwood Baloth is way easier to cast than terra stomper, and Paleoloth/Spearbreaker Behemoth provide more lategame presence. Gristleback and Brindle Boar can be strong sideboarded against burn. Renegade Krasis can do work with the +1/+1 counter theme. Alpha Authority could be useful as well as Inspiring Call for protection. Anyways, good luck and happy brewing.
