Found the remains of a G/R land destruction deck the other day... Thresher Beast and Destructive Urge sitting next to each other. Braid of Fire, Brand of Ill Omen and Magmatic Core were in there as well...

Thresher Beast is another obscure card that exists and can be used on a budget. People may just take the 4 damage. But paired with Furnace of Rath effects that becomes 8. :)

I think these cards are all pretty good for this budget build.

ibstudent2200: Dinrova Horror would make good sense. Its only use as a hoser is against other decks trying to cheat out big threats fast, or abuse a turn one play like my deck Bourgeoining. That's still broader than Thresher Beast and it synergizes well with Exhume.
Still might be able to find a better common hoser but its definitely an improvement.

ibstudent2200: Yes, but it's a "toolbox" style deck. I can already tutor for Pathrazer of Ulamog, so I can't imagine a situation where I'd get Ulamog's Crusher instead.
Thresher Beast admittedly isn't that strong but its sufficiently unique (and common) to be worth keeping around. It might be better than Eldrazi against Skies or aggressive token decks?

Ulamog's Crusher is probably a better reanimator target than Thresher Beast.
