Look for "against the odds revel in riches" over at mtg goldfish. Fresh deck tech, maybe 2 days old. U could strip cards from that deck and turn it into a marionette master sac deck instead of winning with treasures thru revel. Might help u in some artifact generation as u cut herald. Revel in riches does wonderful things with a fatal push, even bontus last reckoning, with multiple revels... the treasures stockpile. Though, im not suggesting to add revel again... it might be something to test in sideboard against go wide decks with a couple board wipes as it gives u the artifacts to sac with marionette.

Only thing is why bother using it if its not my win con cause I already produce 6 to 10 treasures a game.

I like the pace this deck runs being played by me and so far I can say it definitely plays fluidly and consistently.

If main goal is marionette with sacing artifacts to burn face, why bother using mechanized production too though? Its takes until your next turn to benefit its value, and if that enchanted artifact blows up, its a big loss. Just seems like a weak card that slows down the marionette combo in this brew.

I might cut the mechanized in favor of better artifact generation if needed, or more control spells, protection for your marionette master from removal, or even tutor for marionette.

Just some ongoing suggestions and thoughts. Sorry if I sound negative, its not my intention. Only trying to provide and discuss suggestions and improvements.

At this point im pretty set on the gameplan. I dont wanna be too focused on one thing. If people are wasting spells removing treasures and mech they arent removing the means to produce the treasure and get Marionette out. So basically its fodder for the other player that can still actually win the game and otherwise feed the progress of the deck by continuing to produce tokens to keep a steady flow for treasure map when flipped to keep tempo up. Its double threat and with all the control if one win con doesn't go off cause someone is burning spells to stop it then the other will surely go off and insured it will go off with more than enough mana to have responses of the second win con going off. This deck sustains very long games. Im not even exaggerating when i say every game i played last night for FNM went for almost the full 50 min if i had to take time to get a win con. But in the end still always came out on top for the most part. Also there was no offense taken

Even as is marionette goes off consistent

I ran into a bunch of UB control yesterday. One was all cycling and Archfiend of Ifnir. The other was normal control winning off Scarab God and such. Wonder how this would fare in that mix. Search for Azcanta  Flip needs to be tried regardless. So much card advantage.

Primal Amulet  Flip might be helpful to copy your spells. I use it in another deck with Torment of Hailfire and it instantly doubles the value of Torment of Hailfire because it creates an exact copy of the spell.

I've been on and off about running primal amulet only because it does occupy my critical 4 drop slot for Glimmer of Genius and Vraska's Contempt in the sideboard so it's kind of a tough sell. Same debate has been going on for me with Search for Azcanta  Flip which I'm actually testing right now.

Also Thousandoaks it comes out turn 4 then will likely take 3-4 turns for it to transform by turns 7-8. I could be done the game by the time it gets to the good part. Also running that just for Torment of Hailfireseems pointless cause not like you can double counter something for any benefit. However Panharmonicon is looking more and more useful in the drop slot to ramp up my creature entering treasure triggers and make fabricate trigger twice on Marionette Master

ThousandOaks says... #11

Point taken. But you could also use it for double Opt / Depths of Desire / Fatal Push / Glimmer of Genius; etc. Not to mention the reduction in your spell costs.

However, ultimately, there's no getting around the fact that it will be transforming around turn 7 or 8 (maybe turn 6). I can understand why that may very well be a deal breaker; especially if your win con is sacrificing treasure to Marionette Master.

It seems like its better as a late game things have gone on too long and I need to keep tempo kinda card. Where as Panharmonicon is game ending possibly cause then I only need 3 triggers of treasures to win or otherwise use the extra treasure to keep pace late game.

ThousandOaks says... #13

Shoot, now I'm thinking of running Primal Amulet  Flip over Search for Azcanta  Flip in my Control Deck! I look for a late game win, so I may be able to leverage it a little better... and a 3-CMC Vraska's Contempt or Glimmer of Genius is a huge plus in the late game.

Oh yes it is azcanta is better early i feel for moving cards but I look to end game around turn 7 or 8 at the latest otherwise I have enough Mana to keep casting out counters and stuff

Take a look at my Ixalan Treasure Pirates Blu/Blk v3 .The only thing that beat it at FNM was an Approach deck.

I watched this deck played at an fnm, even saw a mirror match. Biggest worry is you should probs indeed maintain multiple win cons as you can easily get Lost Legacy sideboarded in against (which happened in the mirror match and other games). Mirror match was won by opponent of lost legacy user only because of tezzeret and revel as secondarys.

I can vouch for taiga277677s statement. Playing my version, it was super upsetting to have The Scarab God ripped out my a maindeck Lost Legacy. If he had known to target Master, I would have been forced to try winning with Tezzeret.

Hence why i didnt go the tez route. Im just waiting on my Mechanized productions to come in. Plus i got sideboard win options

Is there a special reason you don't use Siren Stormtamer or Lookout's Dispersal?

October 19, 2017 10:50 a.m.

w33m4n says... #20

Siren Stormtamer Doesn't really do me much good in this deck as I don't have many creatures and I'm not often the target of a spell. Lookout's Dispersal used to be in but was taken out as I had limited amount of creatures so why have to pay 3 to maybe counter when I can pay 3 to definitely counter. However I may be adding Hostage Taker to the deck so I may include it again now as I will have a solid amount of pirates

After seeing the against the odds version i made my own take, maybe check it out: Treasure Master

I would mainly add Tezzeret the Schemer He is just crazy good with this kind of deck.

October 20, 2017 11:47 a.m.

w33m4n says... #22

He's honestly not all that good in here. He definitely fits but I can definitely get more value of of a Panharmonicon for 4 mana that this would give me. Or even Mechanized Production which will make me tokens and have an attached win condition.

October 20, 2017 12:59 p.m.

w33m4n says... #23

Okay so for those of you who have been keeping track of the deck the original version of the deck that did not include panharmonicon just went 3-1 again for FNM. 3rd place for the night at my local overall I ended up playing against sultai energy, jund energy, black white vampires, and white blue approach. The only deck that I ended up losing against was the jund energy which was due to a combination of poor draws but also jund energies' great ability to keep tempo. Always under pressure and a good player behind it.

October 21, 2017 9:28 p.m.

i love the deck. the only thing im wondering about it is why 4x disallow? its a great card dont get me wrong but 2u 1c is a lot for just a counter spell, which i almost always feel is how im using it. maybe im just a sucky control player, but i think you can get more value elsewhere. i definitely like being able to board in a full set against some matches though. maybe swap them out for some more glimmers or spell swindles where you can get more value out of them like 80% of the time

October 22, 2017 11:40 p.m.

w33m4n says... #25

But for 3 stop anything. Abilities. Triggers. It comes quite in handy. And swindle is good but expensive. Glimmer is good but again expensive
