This deck intends on dealing with most of your opponent's threats, while eventually taking out your opponent with massive damage of Guttersnipe while fuelling your graveyard for Spellheart Chimera. This deck can easily end up with ten or more instants/sorceries in your graveyard, making Spellheart Chimera very powerful.

But until you reach that point, the idea is to control the board. For that i use a lot of counterspells. They are meant to protect the valuable creatures. That's also the reason you shouldn't play those creatures until you're sure you can protect them. The best for this is Negate which counters all kinds of removal. Mizzium Skin is also a very cheap piece of protection.

Steam Augury will allow for some drawing while also fueling your graveyard for Spellheart Chimera.

Izzet Charm is also really good in this deck, because all of it's modes can be relevant. The drawing for when you're out of spells, the damage for annoying creatures and the counter for protecting your creatures.

If Spellheart Chimera won't do the job, Guttersnipe or Young Pyromancer will.
