An Introduction to Soul Sisters

This is a soul sister's deck from the cards I own. There are obvious upgrades such as the Declaration in Stones and the Condemn being replaced with a playset of Path to Exiles. However, I only have one and I can't be bothered to spend £20 on another playset so please can your suggestions be affordable in the comments.

The version of soul sisters I'm playing right now is the one that uses Martyr of Sands to gain 12-15 life on turn two and attack with a 6/6 flying Serra Ascendant on turn three. This is immensely powerful and gives you the ability to stay on a higher life total whilst building up your army. Ranger of Eos helps to tutor for more Serra Ascendants whilst also providing a decent body. If that doesn't work use Soul Warden, Spectral Procession and Honor of the Pure to gain life and get bodies. If you've run out of white cards in hand for your Martyr use Squadron Hawk to search for more. Hopefully, all of your flyers can get through before the opponent plays a Sandwurm Convergence (it's happened).

How to play the deck.

This deck is very aggressive, looking to win on around turn 5-7. For this you need to keep the right hand. An ideal hand would be:

1 Martyr of Sands

4 Serra Ascendants

2 Plains

This would be very unlikely so you'll most probably want a Martyr of Sands 3-4 other white cards hopefully including Serra Ascendant and 2 lands. When playing against decks like burn try to keep cards like Brave the Elements to protect your creatures.

There are different ways to gain life albeit slower and less flashy so keep hands like:

1 Soul Wardens

1 Spectral Procession

1 Ajani's Pridemate

2-3 Plains

1 Honor of the Pure

Hands like these are slower and less effective but still gain life and get out bigger creatures. The Soul Warden and the Spectral Procession work really well together, gaining life to pump the Ajani's Pridemate. Play a Brave the Elements and swing in for the win.

Here are key cards to keep for certain matchups:

Burn-Brave the Elements

Aggro/Tribal-Declaration in Stone

Control/Delve-Martyr of Sands and Serra Ascendant

Sideboarding

In between matches it is essential to sideboard if you want to stay alive. Here's what you should keep against different matchups.

Affinity-Disenchant and Stony Silence

Tron-Damping Sphere, Disenchant, Stony Silence and Nevermore

Burn-Orbs of Warding

Delve-Tormod's Crypt

Treasure Hunt/Storm-Nevermore

Jund-Celestial Purge

Upgrades

These are cards that I want that can be used to upgrade the deck:

Proclamation of Rebirth

Path to Exile

Archangel of Thune

The maybeboard is full of potential sideboard cards:

Marrow Shards-Against aggro archetypes like elves.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben-Storm hate for mono-white!

Rest in Peace-Graveyard hate for mono-white!

Kor Firewalker-Burn counter.
