After 4 different iterations of this deck I think I finally found the right combination of cards to do well at FNM. The idea is to use Enrage as the center of the deck and Forerunner of the Empire does that awesomely. Not only does he tutor for a dinosaur, he also triggers enrage when they come into the battlefield. I know it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to play white just for Siegehorn Ceratops but played correctly, this dinosaur could get gigantic. Obviously, my ultimate goal is to have Drover of the Mighty and Otepec Huntmaster out so that I can play Regisaur Alpha turn 4 and then Ghalta, Primal Hunger Turn 5. Updates to come

  • So, on the recommendation of a friend, I swapped out the Ranging Raptors for Raging Regisaurs, because there was too much ramp in the deck.
  • I had Thunderherd Migration, Commune with Dinosaurs, Otepec Huntmaster, and Forerunner of the Empire AND Ranging Raptors all to ramp into big dinos, with not enough big dinos to ramp into, AND not enough ways to trigger enrage on my side of the board.
  • So the Raging Regisaurs will be able to trigger enrage. With amount of ramp I have, I don't really need a three drop anyway because I was consistently playing 4 drops on turn three every game (Without the Ranging Raptors trigger).
  • I may add another Polyraptor or Ghalta, Primal Hunger in the future, but FNM is tomorrow so we'll see how we do!
