This is the deck I think will get me a lot of wins in Theros, it has plenty of removal, aggro stoppers, life gain, a lot of draw power, and just the right amount of kill power! Please take the time to give me feedback because all feedback is appreciated.
Shout out to omnipath for his collaboration on this deck with me as I ironed out the wrinkles, take a look at his deck, orzhov poetry sucks (after you leave a comment on mine that is :P). Also take a look at MyojiinOfCali's The Taoism of Magic. Lets see if we can't get a network of feedback going between people who enjoy Orzhov's competitiveness.
~~~~~~~~~~~Breaking It Down~~~~~~~~~~~
Creatures:
Blood Baron of Vizkopa - If you want a finisher, you got a finisher! His second ability to become a 10/10 is irrelevant to me, it has never happened and I don't plan on it happening.
Desecration Demon - Value creature AND removal? Sign me up!
Heliod, God of the Sun - This guy is incredible, he has won me games single-handedly without even becoming active, his tokens and their vigilance, when paired with lifelink from the Whip, is insane!
High Priest of Penance
- I actually picked these guys up one night for the sideboard, and I found myself bringing them in every game to either 2-for-1 aggro, or shoot D-Spheres, so they made the MB cut.
Obzedat, Ghost Council - Orzhov's finest!
Spells:
Hero's Downfall/Doom Blade - Downfall is a damn powerhouse and Blade is simple and easy.
Devour Flesh - More removal, as well as dodging hexproof and being emergency lifegain in a pinch.
Gods Willing - My own flavor for the deck, I love it for unblockable and/or dodging spot removal, has saved my ass many a time!
Read the Bones - Card advantage, card advantage, card advantage!
Thoughtseize - Some people say sideboard, to which I respond, "everyone has something in their hand they don't want me seeing."
Enchantments:
Blind Obedience - The enter tapped is nice against RDW/Stormbreath Dragon as well as stopping AEtherling from swinging, then bouncing and coming back untapped to block, not to mention the extort trigger!
Underworld Connections - Some people say sideboard, I reply "Card advantage, card advantage, card advantage!"
Whip of Erebos - Insane life gain due to mass lifelink, as well as sweet interaction with the Ghost Daddy, however this card against control is nuts, sure wipe the board, you don't have an answer to me bringing them back one turn at a time!
Walkers:
Elspeth, Sun's Champion - Really, who doesn't like a 6 drop that wins the game by itself?
So there you have it, the run down of the deck you don't want to sit across the table from.
