This deck is all about getting cheap, evasive creatures into play and hitting your opponent until they are dead.

Beaters Show

Starting with Ornithopter....yes I know it is a 0/2! This 0 mana bad boy comes down when you need him and can become a pseudo Mox Opal to use when casting Thopterist and the many other improvise spells. When he isn't helping your grixis deck "ramp," he is blocking opposing T1 Bomat Couriers or attacking with Prying Blade to get you actual mana! Don't count this bad boy out.

Moving up the curve we get to Hope of Ghirapur and Siren Stormtamer . These guys synergize well by potentially putting your opponent off their curve and saving other creatures. They might just be 1/1s to start but evening a few pings from these guys before sacrificing should be enough.

Glint-Nest Crane is a great body for the cost and is way above curve with a Favorable Winds .

Herald of Anguish only looks like a 7 drop if you weren't paying attention to the rest of the deck. Ideally, we will be casting him for BB but even at 3 or 4 mana, this demon can definitely close up shop in a hurry. Thankfully he survives nearly all playable removal and the added bonus of making your opponent discard the turn he comes out is just icing on the cake. I want to run 3 but don't know what to cut...thoughts?

Support Show

The namesake Favorable Winds is just bonkers. A Gideon emblem for 4CMC was played up until he was forced out of standard so getting the same effect for 2CMC is awesome! Suddenly, your Ornithopters! are glint-nest cranes and cranes are upgraded into permanently crewed Sky Skiffs.

Key to the City gets your non-flying Thopterists through when you need the damage or turns into a regenerating Clue when you improvise it.

Oddly enough, Renegade Map is great at imitating Mind Stone that thins your deck when you need to. It even replaces itself with a land.

Pacification Array does well keeping us alive agains Hazoret and can later sacrifice itself to the Herald to wipe away some competition.

Battle at the Bridge is our only main deck removal but it is a good one. We get to take out their best guy and get some life back in the process. Great against Ramunap Red, great against Temur Energy and even great on our own creature if we have to.

Sideboard Shenanigans Show

We dig into the side for more aggro on our end as well as fighting control with more Stormtamers and Hope of Ghirapur .

Fatal Push and Unlicensed Disintegration come in to fight aggro and midrange while Metallic Rebukes give us just a little more reach when fighting control since turn 5 board wipes tend to ruin our plan....
