First of all, the deck is still getting updates, you shouldnt play this deck against competitive ones, i dont think it'll work, but it is a super fun deck to play. Anyway, i will be very thankfull about any suggestion or feedback.
Okay, the strategy here is to get as many cards in the graveyard as soon as posible, and use primarly your trample creatures to overrun your foes.
We have 3 cards to make us sure to win the game.
Lotleth Troll
, the
Splinterfright
and
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
I will talk about them one by one.
The
Lotleth Troll
is our primarly early game card, used to get some damage early on, and to defend us against bigger creatures thanks to its regenerate abbility, very usefull. Depends of the enemy or the situation, we can use his discard abbility to improve his combat power and survavility, discarting cards like
Shriekmaw
against black decks, or
Satyr Wayfinder
when we have a good amount of lands at our disposal.
The
Splinterfright
is kind of different. We can't use it as aggresive as the
Lotleth Troll
since he lacks the regenerate, but he keeps sending cards to our graveyard making him bigger and bigger. You will have to be carefull when to playing it because doing it against decks able to cast
Lightning Bolt
will make you wait till 4 or more creatures are in your graveyard.
Now, lets talk about
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
. Jarad most of the time will come as an 7/7 or 8/8, at least, he will be a bigger creature than most of the ones on the battlefield for a relative low cost. Also, the more creatures you get in your graveyard, the bigger he gets, so he will keep growing and growing. He also has 2 great abilities in this deck. First, his sacrifice abbility. This one allows you to sacrifice a big creature just to finish your opponent without even the need to attack.
Also, his last abbility. Sacrificing 2 lands isnt even a deal in this deck having
Life from the Loam
, and when
The Gitrog Monster
is in play, being able to draw to cards its a great advantage.
Okay i mentioned the
The Gitrog Monster
, so lets talk about him. First of all, 6/6 with deathtouch for 5 mana is great. A big blocker and a heavy hitter, he will probably be one of the biggest creatures on the battlefield, also, a potential objective to be sacrifice with Jarad. Now, his sacrifice land abbility. This one is already a known combo with
Life from the Loam
, but he is even more usefull here being able to drawn even more cards thanks to
Splinterfright
,
Satyr Wayfinder
, etc... Usually when he hits the ground he gives you tons of card draw, some of the times i got to draw 4 or 5 cards a turn.
I have been thinking about the amount of lands this deck needs. 2.95 seems like a big Avg CMC but having so many cards that gives us lands, you wont have mana problems, most of my games i end up having a land per turn. That without taking to account
Life from the Loam
, maybe you can even get rid of one more land, all you need is 2 mana at turn one, and thats all. With
Satyr Wayfinder
and
Grisly Salvage
you will have acces to a lot of lands.
I'll talk for a second about
Ancient Grudge
the point about it is to discard it with
Raven's Crime
.If you play against heavy artifact decks, you will put those
Ancient Grudge
over
Abrupt Decay
and one extra
Raven's Crime
to discard yourself those
Ancient Grudge
and use the flashback cost. 3 cards are enought to be sure that your graveyard will have always one or two of them. Also, against that match up, you'll play
Reclamation Sage
over
Shriekmaw
Some cards like
Assassin's Trophy
and fetchlands arenot included because i cant affor them, but you can easily upgrade this deck with them. Also, i need a little bit of help with the sideboard, i dont know yet what to use.
Im still improving this deck, this is totally not the final version, any suggestions and/or feedback will be great.
