GUYS, WE DID IT!

With your incredible help, this deck has become the best Spirits deck on TappedOut!

Currently, the deck is:

  • The 1st of the site in the "Spirits" category

  • The 1st of the site in the Modern "Counters" category

  • The 3rd of the site in the Modern "Lifegain" category

  • The 13th of the site in the Modern "Budget" category

Seriously, I can't thank you enough for all the appreciation, the help and the encouragement you gave me in the last year. So, everybody, THANKS!

To describe this deck: "Use Sunbond to charge with +1/+1 counters your unblockable creatures. Use Tallowisp to get your enchantment directly from the deck, protecting your creatures with Drogskol Captain and the charms. Gain huge amounts of life and swing with an unblockable 17/15 with hexproof for the win"

Hi guys, today I wanna present you my last creation: a powerful life-gain Spirit deck. The main purpose is simple: put a number of unblockable spirits, get your enchantments from the deck, gain a ridicoulus amount of life in some turn and.. Win. If you put two Drogskol Captain on the battlefield, you have a fully protected army that can only attack, attack and attack. This is also a control deck: while your unblockable Spirits do their job you can use Detention Sphere, Prison Term to hold back the creatures of the opponent. Tallowisp is fundamental to early get the enchantments you need to power up your Spirits.

The Deck

Here is a complete list of the role of every card:

Sunbond: This card greatly boosts my spirits everytime I gain life, this is a fundamental combo of the deck.

Prison Term : Holds back the creatures of my opponent and can easily be picked with my Tallowisps. Trust me, it's great. It can stop an Emrakul.

Crystallization : Recently added, this is an underpowered Prison Term , but I can tutor and use it way more easily against some early game threat. The removal part is nice if the opponent wants to bounce the creature, or if I want to remove it with a simple Dawn Charm.

Detention Sphere: Here against non-creature permanents, unfortunately it cannot be taken from the deck with Tallowisp.

Ordeal of Heliod : great alone, stupendous with Sunbond. Enchant, on the third attack I put Sunbond, SURPRISE! 10 +1/+1 counters!

Spirit Link: Another trigger for Sunbond. It's nice because of the extreme low cost, and many of them trigger separately. I can also use it to enchant an opponent's creature, making it useless in combat and eventually pumping my Spirits in combo with Sunbond.

Tallowisp: I think it's the best enchantment tutor in all tribal decks

Azorius Herald : 3 mana, 2/1 unblockable, 4 life that can also trigger Sunbond, that's a must.

Rattlechains: Ok, now we're talking. Shadows Over Innistrad gives us this great card, the past piece to make this deck even more powerful. As a 2/1 with flash and flying, this is already good; but the instant trigger for Tallowisp makes it just perfect. The best scenario I can imagine is flashing Rattlechains giving Hexproof to itself in EOT, then flash in Drogskol Captain in the next EOT giving the Chains Hexproof. I can't imagine how many combat tricks I'll do, flashing the captain and protecting other creatures. In this deck, Rattlechains is not only a nice beater, it also makes the Captain a counter to spells that target my creatures, and bring the deck to a whole new level of speed and flexibility. 4x.

Drogskol Captain: BEST CAPTAIN EVER! Boosts my Spirits and protect them! Everytime I get 2 of them on the BF, I win the game. Seriously. Remember that time that I won with 3 lands and 4 Drogskol Captains on the battlefield..

Blessed Spirits : It pumps itself whenever I cast an enchantment, allows me to sacrifice Ordeal of Heliod after only 2 turns, I simply love this card.

Dawn Charm: 3x1, early/mid game protection, saves my creature, counter the only thing that can harm me when I have 2 Drogskol Captains out. It also makes coffe.

Blessed Breath: Protection for our creatures and trigger for Tallowisp, being an arcane spell.

Ideal Hand with Cards Odds

-- 2x Island 60.1%

-- 2x Plains 74.1%

-- 1x Tallowisp 39.9%

-- 1x Blessed Spirits 39.9%

-- 1x Azorius Herald 31.5%

Note that you have high chances to get what you need for this scenario. Only 3 creatures are needed! You will get everything else you'll need (the enchantments) during your turns. You'll also need to get a 5th land, doesn't matter Island or Plains, and the chances to get one in the 5th turn are around of 90%.

TURN 1: Plains

TURN 2: Island, Tallowisp

TURN 3: Island, Blessed Spirits that triggers Tallowisp to get a Sunbond

TURN 4: Plains, Sunbond on Blessed Spirits , attack with Blessed Spirits . ~~ Opponent: 17 life

TURN 5: Plains, Azorius Herald that triggers both Tallowisp (get a Ordeal of Heliod ) and Sunbond (blessed spirits 7/5), enchant Blessed Spirits with Ordeal of Heliod , attack, sacrifice Ordeal of Heliod , gain 10 life, Blessed Spirits becomes an unblockable 18/16. ~~ Opponent: 0 life

If the opponent doesn't gain life in these 5 turns, this is a turn 5 win. If he does, it's a turn 6 win.

Key Combos

Blessed Spirits + Spirit Link + Sunbond that escalated quickly

( Blessed Spirits with already 3+ counters on it) + Ordeal of Heliod + Sunbond : that escalated more quickly
