"BUILD ME AN ARMY WORTHY OF MORDOR."
- Sauron, the Dark Lord
THE REASON
I think I want to start going to FNM but I'm a bit cautious as legitimately all I've done before now is play against friends. So I was hoping to make a semi-unique deck to run with at FNM. I don't know a lot about FNM at all, but if I'm researching correctly, the card legality is standard. If this isn't already standard legal, please feel free to make any suggestions that would still keep the integral mechanics of the deck intact.
THE MECHANICS
Basically, I drew a
Liliana, the Last Hope
from a booster and wanted to see what I could do with her tokens that was at least somewhat different. I think
Jace, Arcane Strategist
along with
Liliana, the Last Hope
,
Anointed Procession
, and
Odric, Lunarch Marshal
really do well together, along with
Akroma, Angel of Wrath
. I thought
Venser, the Sojourner
and
Elspeth, Sun's Champion
were also just a nice fit. This deck focuses a lot on legendary creatures too, as you can tell. Not really because they are legendary but because they have well-suited abilities for this deck. If I were to add anything, it might be Endless Ranks of the Dead. The reason I haven't done so is because the deck's competitive percentage goes down when I save the changes, which I don't quite understand, but oh well. So instead I have it on the sideboard. If I were to make additional changes, I think I would probably go for more emphasis on the Amass ability that came out with WotS, if possible. You could also very easily adapt this deck to have Green instead of White so that you could utilize one of Vraska's cards that pretty much insta-kill. But for this deck I didn't want to go above three colors, and I personally just use White more often because I like it's mechanics.
FURTHER NOTES
As far as suggestions go, I'd appreciate any feedback. However, I, specifically, would appreciate any suggestions on what land cards to use as that's always a weak point of mine. I tend to only go with basic lands. If there are any non-basic lands that would help the mechanics of this deck, please let me know.
