Sideboard

Like a big ole train, Garruk gonna come in and steamroll. Well ok, Nissa will probably win us more games than Garruk, but still...

M15 brought alot of new presents to Green. Super powerful cards on the top end of the curve. i decided to use my older deck as a base and work off of it's ramp shell.

In the Caboose We have Sylvan Caryatid, mana fix, ramp, defense, and resistant to removal.

Cyclonic Rift Early tempo, overload FTW.

Abrupt Decay Effective spot removal

Courser of Kruphix pads life total, helps guide decision, nice defender. The secret's completely out on this guy, if you have a green deck this guy is in it...

Dreg Mangler Haste, and a nice blocker with possible upside thru scavenge.

Hero's Downfall Likely the most powerful removal spell in the format.

Polukranos, World Eater Turn 3 boss, and with enough mana he literally does eat worlds.

Kiora, the Crashing Wave Defense or get us to that next level thru lands and ramp.

Nissa, Worldwaker Solid ramp, and making lands into creatures is solid! This card performs better than you might give it credit for at first glance.

Prime Speaker Zegana Draw me more cards please, then stomp face? Sure...

Genesis Hydra This very well might be the best Hydra ever printed.

Garruk, Apex Predator. No activations that suck, and no matchup that he is weak in.

Sideboard so far...

Nylea's Disciple Aggro gain life.

Simic Charm Aggro and Aggressive Mid-range

Negate Control

Mistcutter Hydra Control Mono-Blue

Thoughtseize For control and Black decks, bring in on the draw against midrange.

Golgari Charm Bring in for Black decks, and control.

Stain the Mind Against control

Scavenging Ooze Red Aggro for lifegain or hate on any graveyard strategies.

How fitting that this brew, which is based from another deck that won me the Born of the Gods gameday mat would give me my second mat.

After weeks of tinkering and suffering close defeats the decks more recent incarnation brought a 2-1 record at FNM. Still it needed a bit more tweaking. The experiment with Gyre Sage over, put Sylvan Caryatid back into the main, and Thoughtseize in the board.

Both moves helped, enabling the deck to play spells, stay on curve, and give the deck some diversity from the board by giving it a bit of disruption.

Match 1 Against Selesnya Mid-range. i curved out perfectly first game and destroyed my opponent. Second game went longer but the matchup seems to involve even board states, which favors me in the long run as i have the board wipe with Cyclonic Rift.

Match 2 Against a Green Devotion brew. i won handily both games. My opponent simply didn't have a deck with enough cards to match my power level. Had he gone a bit more aggro it might have not been so lopsided...

Match 3 Against a friend of mine who is running a Jund Brew. Nissa, Worldwaker was key in both victories. As was Thoughtseize in the sideboard second match, i was able to play around his removal and pull ahead tempo wise by turn 4.

Match 4 A somewhat mirror match with a Golgari deck. He was complaining about being mana screwed, but i feel his deck suffers from the kinks not being worked out of it and being a bit clunky. Final game with him feeling false comfort with a pair of Sylvan Caryatid a pair of Courser of Kruphix, and a pair of Reaper of the Wilds, i Cyclonic Rift overload and swing for 15 exactees.

Cards that give me incremental advantage Dreg Mangler with it's haste, Cyclonic Rift is an all star in shattering stalemates, and the combo of the 3 planeswalkers. They all work well in tandem, getting 2 on board puts you in such a dominating position your opponent has to deal with them. Genesis Hydra seems to do a great job of finding them.
