My take on the Modern Hate deck "Blue Moon."

I think Blood Moon is such a beating in the format. The deck seeks to survive the early game through interactive burn spells (Burst Lightning + Lightning Bolt ) and counter magic (Mana Leak + Remand ). Drop a Blood Moon as soon as possible to lock people out, then in the mid game, drop a Pia and Kiran Nalaar or Batterskull to finish the game.

Many lists run Cryptic Command but I don't own any. Also, Ancestral Vision just got unbanned and might find its way into the deck. I only own 2 though, so I'm not sure they will help all that much. It is hard to find room for them as well since the deck wants to interact as much as possible early game and AV sucks as a topdeck. I'm hesitant to drop anything right now.

Roast initially was a way to interact with Eldrazi, but it has been very helpful against goyfs and spellskites. So those will stay in, despite the Eldrazi nerf.

The sideboard probably needs a bit of work. It has game against aggro because of 8 bolts, but sometimes it loses steam against midrange (like Jund) which is a bit weird, as control usually beats midrange. So, it still needs some testing and refining.

Ancestral Vision — April 7, 2016

So I really wanted to find a way to fit in my two Ancestral Vision. I decided to drop the Spell Pierces to the side (they come in against burn, which is an even to bad MU). Spell Snare goes up to 3 in the MD because it is SO GOOD. And now that sword of the meek is unbanned, countering Thopter Foundry for one mana seems really effective. I also dropped one burst lightning because, although I love 8 bolts, most lists run less than 4. So, that made room for my two AV for testing. I realize that it is more of an "all or nothing" type of card, but it just about the only card advantage engine that blue has right now.

If I can pick up a third when prices drop I will maybe drop one serum visions for a 3/3 split.
