that's a very ideal turn of events imo. u need 4 cards to pull off your combo: loyalist, mauler, paladin, skills. i suggest adding cards that have more synergy so they can serve similar functions in case you don't draw the cards u need. if you are going for an aggro deck, the average cmc should be under 2.5. try adding more weenies so early game victories can be pulled off easier. it's a bit pricey, but that's none of my business. if u want to go budget, consider cards like boros recruit, etc. u should add +1 madcap skills, +1 searing spear, +1 frontline medic, -1 scorchwalker, -1 hellrider, +2 land.

check out my boros deck for more ideas.

Thanks for the advice! I will admit it's not all super speedy, but it also doesn't burn out too quickly, it decks out nicely. And I have all the cards in this deck, so price isn't an issue considering I don't need to buy anything, I am trying to get my hands on more Medics though.

I have a similar deck that's focused on agro/messing with your blocking. Battalion Battle Front

But ya, 4 Foundry's and 4 Clifftop will make any deck 120+ Great lands though.

@Archangel113, true that haha. Lands are way too expensive imo. but it is what it is. nice deck btw

Aside from what lands are in here, do you run only 33? that seems a little low considering you only have a couple mana rocks and ramp spells.

November 9, 2013 12:05 p.m.

No I'm running 35 once I get my lands back. Hopefully within the next week or so.

November 10, 2013 7:19 p.m.

Ahhhh ok, that makes much more sense.

November 10, 2013 9:57 p.m.

Yeah haha. I just had the lands in the commander deck. And somehow lost some of them. :P

Hell yeah Chromatic Lantern ! I only run 5 color decks so seeing that in here makes me happy. xD Rites of Flourishing makes multiplayer funny. Wishing we had more EDH players in Illinois!

Haha, I love group hug effects!! Sorry to hear there aren't many up there. I'm from Rochester, NY and we have a few places to play.

You left out Godsire (aka the card that has to go in every Mayael EDH deck.) This must be fixed, as it happens to be an iconic card.

Personally, Karmic Justice isn't very good in a deck that focuses on creatures as you won't have a huge use for it.

November 17, 2013 12:41 a.m.

To be honest I didn't notice it was non creature permanent. Thanks for that! And yes I do need a godsire. I don't have one but I already planned on getting one when I can.

Kargan Dragonlord seems like a big investment, wouldn't Mana-Charged Dragon be better (and much more fun)? Also, have you considered Spearbreaker Behemoth ?

i personally like Quest for Renewal better than Seedborn Muse

Seedborn Muse is definitely the stronger card, for two big reasons: It untaps your lands and can be tutored easier.

I think you forgot to fill in the land section, but cool deck otherwise! Maybe Nykthos could fit in there!

February 4, 2014 2:22 p.m.

Oh yea. It does run forests haha thanks! And yes I do need to throw in a Nykthos in here. Thanks!

PIERCE THE VEILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

March 3, 2014 5:39 p.m.

Bear Umbra makes Omnath so SO large, Nature's Will also works sometimes, but the umbra works better, and adds defense for your general.

Azusa, Lost but Seeking , Exploration , Oracle of Mul Daya , Burgeoning , Earthcraft and Primeval Bounty could work very nicely in this deck I think. (but if you don't like infinite combo's, don't play earthcraft with mana reflection and ant queen in the same deck...)

It's a matter of preference, but you could replace Snake Basket with Orochi Hatchery , they have the same goal but are vastly different cards.

talking about replacing cards, Skyshroud Claim is just a better version of Ranger's Path . Even Hunting Wilds is a Ranger's Path with a very weird and mostly useless ability pinned onto it. But hey, sometimes all it takes is two hasty 3/3 forests to kill someone.

Some utility lands you could consider are Oran-Rief, the Vastwood , Thawing Glaciers , Terrain Generator , Scrying Sheets (if you use snow-covered forests). Strip Mine /Wasteland are never dead cards.

I mean, it's a dumb and obvious recommendation: Sol Ring not much to say about it... just an amazing card in EVERY (yes every) edh deck.

But the one and only card that is truly missing in this deck, if you can afford and find one, is Gaea's Cradle . This card is worth running nonbasic-tutors, it's so broken in such builds.
