Affinity for modern huh? Interesting, i think it's also top tier let's see the average price of an affinity deck... 300$ what the heck? I will not tolerate such prices for an affinity deck, here let me show you how it's done!I am not one of the people who are willing to pay THAT much for an mtg deck, if i am to make a deck i will do it budgetish.

Stradegy Show

Rule#1 of affinity: if your hand isnt empty by turn 3 or so you are doomed to lose.Rule#2: Board control is everything...well almost.Although its an aggro deck affinity want to have the board control, like how can you swing with your hordes of creatures if you will lose your board pressence afterwards.Rule#3 Win atleast by turn 5-10: In affinity you will literally dump your hand for board control and damage, but if you cant kill your opponent early this WILL backfire.

Now lets get into the Matchups.

Jund Show

I will talk generally but if i am to be specific its about the jund matchup, Jund has LOTS of mass removal and disruption, you will need to be quicker on the damage section...or else you will get Abrupt Decay'd or Shatterstorm'd and by that time you will obviously have no hand, so to sum up try to swarm them.

On to the Control decks.

Mono U Tron. Show

Mono U tron will ramp mana and fast, so you will need a handful of cheap creatures in your starter hand and possibly a Cranial Plating to win turn 4

Every counter-based control deck Show

If you know your opponent has "bombs" that you cant go through consider playing extremely aggresive, however if your opponent has not got that bomb which you cant just bypass, try playing more grindy midrange-like, but still make sure you have your 0-drops in your oppening hand

Against Heavy removal decks Show

As i said with Jund you need to watch out here, you choose what your opponent can remove not him....usually he/she will have always an answer in the form of an instant, play safe and wait for Etched Champion in which case your opponent will waste a LOT of removal and you will be free to go.

On to aggro-midrange decks.

R/G Tron Show

Its just like Mono-U tron but care if they have anything suspicious at their disposal like a mass removal.

Soul Sisters Show

It may not be necessarily an aggro deck but its a bummer to play against... wait for Etched Champion and finish them off with a few hits from Cranial Plating

Auras Show

Disruption matters A LOT here as you might want to run 3-4 Duress and when they have nothing go for the kill.

Infect Show

Have a Galvanic Blast if it kills the creature its over.

And at the end the obnoxius combos

Storm matchup Show

The key to surviving here is not dying quickly by a Grapeshot get in there and get to hitting the face.

Living End/ Dredge (any kind) Show

You might want graveyard hate here but if you dont have available, go for the kill with a possible Cranial Plating and in case of dredge Try to remove their key creatures with Galvanic Blast

I hope this deck will be useful to you...remember this is a BUDGET deck, it may not win you a Pro tour but i guarantee to you that you will enjoy Magic the Gathering not by winning, but just by having some casual fun.
