A pretty generic take on Simic Flash I think. Sideboard needs work, but I like where this sits right now.
Once Upon a Time
allows the deck to go down a land and makes mulligans feel much better.
Wildborn Preserver
feels good, but I don't think its a slam dunk as every seems to think it is. It's very good for using extra mana.
Brazen Borrower
feels so good, especially with
Once Upon a Time
.
Stopping a quick
Teferi, Time Raveler
or
Oko, Thief of Crowns
. Both those cards are ridiculously good against this deck. Teferi for obvious anti-flash reasons. Oko is less obvious, but an unanswered turn 2 Oko is probably the most powerful play in Eldraine Standard, especially if followed by
Nissa, Who Shakes the World
.
Wicked Wolf
in the Simic Food decks is also pretty back breaking.
Hydroid Krasis
is rough since they draw cards through counterspells, and
Shifting Ceratops
out of the sideboard is very hard to beat as well.
Bant lands feels decent, but it all depends on if they get down Teferi or get
Field of the Dead
active quickly. Golos is a strong blocker against this deck, but if we can put enough pressure on them, the match isn't too bad. Once again,
Shifting Ceratops
and Hydrod Krasis are rough to play against.
Aggro (Rakdos, Monored, Jund, etc.) can be a good match up for this deck since
Brineborn Cutthroat
and
Wildborn Preserver
can grow much bigger than their creatures. Also,
Nightpack Ambusher
can take over the game very quickly. The main problem is stabilizing. IF they can put enough pressure on this deck, they can end the game before we can stabilize.
Embercleave
and Stomp (
Bonecrusher Giant
) are tricky to play against if you're not expecting them. Getting Rakdos and Monoblack to time walk themselves with
Knight of the Ebon Legion
's pump and an
Unsummon
is very strong It's important to counter of bounce
Spawn of Mayhem
as much as possible. Jund Adventures feels decent if you can counter
Lucky Clover
or
Edgewall Innkeeper
; this is difficult, especially on the draw. If you can stop them, the rest of the deck should be much simpler because out counter spells are 2-1's. The bounce spells are horrible here against adventure cards.
