Edgewall Innkeeper

Creature — Human Peasant

Whenever you cast a creature spell that has an Adventure, draw a card. (It doesn't need to have gone on the adventure first.)

This deck reminds me very much of Cruel Control back in the day, and I like it a lot.

I want to say stick with 3 Shatter and go 4 Cinderclasm as far as the meta is concerned, you'll trounce most decks like Rogues and Mono Red. You'll have access to another early game answer to Cobra and Edgewall Innkeeper (nuking the Lovestruck Beast token also) as well. Your worst match up will be with Sultai Control which in BO3 you just side them out. If Sultai tries to stick an Uro, Dragonfire it to rfg.

IF you choose to put a little money into it. Sea Gate Restoration  Flip will function like your Ultimatums since most of the time you're holding cards and will double as a much needed land.

Building this in a certain way can very well make this a top tier deck that hates out every other deck. I have a ton of faith in this. You're a little lacking in the consistancy department. And I'll be perfectly honest. Your Whirlwind/Planeswalkers package.. outside of the draw a card abilities, they aren't doing much. Same with Borrower. Sure bouncing a permanent would help but it feels kinda meh as a one of answer, but you've definitely inspired me to make my own version of this deck.

Absolutely hilariously fun deck to play! I ended up taking the idea of dropping a bomb with draws and dumps because my early draws were all removal (Murderous Rider) and land-delving (Beanstalk Giant) so even though I had Edgewall Innkeeper in my hand from turn 1 I held him back to keep the ace up my sleeve. When I dropped him he brought that marauding cavalry along with him and it was gameover from there. So cool!

The decks a little all over the place right now. I would recommend sticking to one idea. If you want to be a Golgari Adventure deck then keep things like Beanstalk Giant and Edgewall Innkeeper if you go this route then you might want to add Murderous Rider and Lucky Clover . If you want to be a knight deck keep cards like Garenbrig Paladin and Foulmire Knight although I wouldn't reccomend a Knight deck in Golgari. Ayara, First of Locthwain and Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig should never be played in a multicolored deck. Even if your trying to make a jank deck you definitely need to get more consistency. You need to be able to reliably draw cards you want so that you can consitenly go off on your opponent. Based on the cards you have and how long your account has been active I take it you fairly new to MTG and are making a deck from cards you have so for that not too bad of a deck aside from the incositency. I would recommend that if you want to play Golgari you should either play Adventures or Food. Their are some really good decks in both of those archetypes and while they are more expensive you will get good results. If your looking for budget mono-red is pretty good with Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and while not as competitively viable I got good results with Mono-Green before and I've heard good things about mono-black however its a bit more expensive. If you want to play a multi-colored deck and Orzhov lifegain deck is fun but if your going for budget Boros Knights is probably your best bet.

Took the deck to my LGS for standard last night. If not for a key misplay on my part in each match-up (need to get better at focusing on the mental part of my game), it had very favorable match-ups with Golgari Good Stuff, Sultai Recurrsion, and Mono Red.

Having even one each of Edgewall Innkeeper and Lucky Clover on the battlefield turns this deck into a machine. Now I just need to focus on a solid sideboard and my mental mistakes

Also, why is The Royal Scions and Improbable Alliance in there? Is it just to get a farie from Edgewall Innkeeper ?

I think a "return" theme in these colors would be cool, and you have some fitting cards already like Syr Konrad, Forever Young (super good with konrad!), Once and Future, Cauldron's Gift, and Barrow Witches.

Other cards that would work with this theme include Order of Midnight , Cauldron Familiar , Deathless Knight , and some others that have synergy with these cards are Edgewall Innkeeper , Curious Pair , and Savvy Hunter .

First, without anything else, it's a 3 CMC 4/3, which is more than most 3 CMC creatures. So already it's above your average creature. Then, before you cast the creature, you can have a 2-cost shock, which you'll use a surprising amount of the time since some decks rely on shockable creatures like Edgewall Innkeeper . Then, the creature is hard to kill with spells because whenever your opponent targets him he shocks them again! It's not so much about being anti-meta, but it's just generally a good creature.

And a minor point in its favor is that it doesn't die to Cast Off .

There's a lot of stuff in here that doesn't really fit the theme. Fae of Wishes , for example, even if it does fetch from your sideboard.

If Feasting Troll King is your main win-con, you need more ability to get him out and keep him out. Food is what I mean here. Gingerbrute is a killer in any food deck, because you can use him to activate things that need food but you can also get some pretty heavy aggro going early-game. Giant Opportunity is IMO under-used. Curious Pair is underpowered, even if you're going for food. Add a few more Oko s, and some Fabled Passage s too to get you those forests when you need it, because 4 green even at turn 6 in a dual-color deck is hard.

I don't really like Edgewall Innkeeper here, there's not enough synergy to really justify four of them. The counterspell aspect of this deck is interesting, and I can't say for sure if it's worth it, but in your testing keep an eye on that and see how well it works for you.
