Sideboard

Test deck, Something I wanted to try out for the new format. I feel like Jeskai has the tools to be a tier 1 deck in the format.

Since the deck is gaining so much attention I'm adding a short primer.

Counterspells: 1) Sinister Sabotage, this is the current go to counterspell for control, with its card filtering.

2) Essence Scatter is a premier 2 cost counter for creature decks, must have against aggro.

3) Syncopate is a flex spot counter spell it can easily be swapped out for negate, or Disdainful Stroke depending on how the meta actually shapes up.

4) Devious Cover-up I am not 100% on this card yet. It's an expensive late game Counter Spell that exiles. The upside of this card is with 2 copies in the deck you can loop it late game by countering a spell with the 2nd copy in the graveyard to keep shuffling a Devious Cover-up and 3 other cards back into the deck over and over until the opp decks out. It can also recycle Dead Teferi or burn spells to help close the game. I have high hopes for it but it will require extensive testing.

5) Negate, I currently have it relegated to the sideboard since most early meta's are full of aggro/midrange creature based decks

6) Disdainful stroke, is a very good Counter spell in control and midrange match ups and can very easily take the Syncopate flex spot.

Removal:

You will probably have noticed I am not running any Seal Away in my 75. The reason for this is I feel like reds New removal is good enough that we should not need seal away, since it turns on incidental enchantment hate such as brontodon. It also doesn't play well with one of the modes on Cleansing Nova.

1) Justice strike, is the removal we have to lean on to do the heavy lifting. Unfortunately it doesn't kill everything but that's ok, between counters and Teferi we can make up for that.

2) lightning strike, great early removal which also doubles as win condition via burning opp's out it's also one of the few ways we have to interact with opposing planeswalkers if they resolve.

3) Shock, must have against aggro if aggro is dominate you can up this number as needed.

4) Settle the Wreckage, our go to sweeper ignores hexproof creatures 100% must have

5) Cleansing Nova, our 5 drop sweeper catches both creatures, or if the need arises

Card Advantage

1) Chemister's Insight, Being able to cast it up to 8 times in a game gives us great card advantage.

2) Search for Azcanta, premier card selection must have.

Win Conditions:

1) Teferi, if you have played standard at all in the last few months you know why this card is so powerful. If not let me explain. It protects itself, gives card advantage, and wins the game.....

2) Niv-Mizzet, Parun, This card has a restrictive mana cost but is very powerful combine it with burn and it allows almost a combo-style flurry of burn to finish opponents.

3) Ral, Izzet Viceroy, I was not 100% on Ral before really testing him. His + ability gives good card selection, -3 deals with threats we would otherwise have to board wipe, and his ult ends the game. I feel like Ral is a great finisher to run alongside Teferi.

update 3: temporarily removed side board guide will have it back up next week I have to completely re=work it with this version of jeskai

Update 2: I swapped Back to Niv + Ral, I moved Deafening Clarion to the main deck. and added beacon Bolt to help against odd Power/toughness creatures, also we added Explosion to help snowball games and finish things.

Update 1: Biggest change I made was moving Lyra to the main to combat all the aggressive decks, especially mono red, it also gives us a way to actually close the game without having to loop every game.

Edit: Wanted to mention I will try to edit/update the list and guides atleast once a week on Sunday night/Monday morning.
