This is a much more aggressive version of the G/W devotion deck that won me 3-0-1 at a recent FNM. The draw would of been a win if I had just 1 more turn, but the control player just stalled things out to get the draw.

I took out the Voyaging Satyr as this deck does not need a 30/30 Genesis Hydra and replaced it with Deathmist Raptor . Those things are just hard for any opponent to deal with. With both Whisperwood Elemental and Mastery of the Unseen, you have plenty of chances of getting them back from the grave.

The 1 of Hornet Nest is a surprise hero of this deck. It single handedly won more games then any other card in my deck. The best trick is to Chord of Calling him in front of something big that is attacking you. If they don't want to attack, then use Dromoka's Command to fight something big and spew out flying death. Its great in the mirror. I had someone cast a 23/23 Genesis Hydra and I used my Hornet Nest to fight it at the end of his turn. The result was an instant scoop from someone who thought they just locked away a victory.

Ideal play

T1 Forest + ElfT2 Plains + RaptorT3 Forest + Surrak. Swing for 8.

This deck works great vs control matches. They cant deal with the Raptor, Mastery, AND Chord. Chord when they tap out for there Dig or Cruise. If you can land a Whiserwood or Sabertooth, you shut them down really fast.

I have yet to loose a match to a RDW. They simply cant deal with the Hornet Nest and the life gain. I have had opponents kill there own Goblin Rabblemaster when I play a Hornet Nest. After that, its down hill for them. Same with Jeski Tokens. They simply cant race the Nest and Manifest from Mastery, and Dromoka's Command kills the Jeskai Ascendancy leaving them with weak 1/1's. They also run nothing but burn, so they cant deal with Hornet Nest.
