MTG Combo: Eternal Scourge + Food Chain

Produces infinite mana in any colour combination that can be used to cast creature spells; exile Eternal Scourge to Food Chain to generate 4 mana, then spend 3 of it to cast Eternal Scourge from exile and repeat.

I plan to write a primer for the deck soon, but list isn't quite finalized yet. The deck has several winning combos and the idea is to assemble one as quick as possible and be able to easily pivot strategies based on your opponents.

The main idea is that once the entire deck is milled either using Hermit Druid or Eternal Scourge + Food Chain mana to cast Sidisi, Brood Tyrant infinite times, flashback Dread Return to get Necrotic Ooze or Thassa's Oracle to win the game. You can also get back Eternal Witness returning Walking Ballista to hand and cast that for .

As a backup combo there are also two Flash + Protean Hulk lines. One of them gets a hasty Hermit Druid to win as previously mentioned and the other wins with Demonic Consultation + Thassa's Oracle .

If all else fails. Zombie Beats!

Thanks for the comment!

The reason is Sidisi, not Tasigur, is pretty simple, actually. She is an outlet to Eternal Scourge + Food Chain combo. Once you have those two, you have infinite mana for creature spells, meaning you can cast Sidisi as many times as you want (you exile her to food chain, send her to the command zone), and then you mill your whole library. You can go off from there (Narcomoeba, Dread Return the Necrotic Ooze, produce infinite colored mana with Blighted Bat, Channeler Initiate + Devoted Druid , and use Walking Ballista to kill everyone).

I don't run Angel's Grace because I don't have white, and the CMC of the deck is so low that Ad Nauseam works very good even if it's just to draw 10 to 20 cards for 10 to 20 life, easily.

Managem on [PRIMER] Sidisi Adaptive Combo

Yeah I was thinking if there were different janky things that could be done with Inverter of Truth or Paradigm Shift with the shell of this deck. Then I thought, wait, Eternal Scourge + Food Chain Bitter Ordeal + Sidisi, Brood Tyrant in conjunction with having Gaea's Blessing in your Graveyard is an indefinite/infinite mill combo, since your casting Sidisi "infinitely" each time you hit Gaea's Blessing it shuffles you're entire graveyard, including itself back into your library allowing you to do it to the desired amount racking up the "Gravestorm" count on Bitter Ordeal to one's desire, given you hard tutored for Bitter Ordeal, and haven't drawn Gaea's Blessing.

However you did mention the potential variance of drawing Gaea's Blessing which would slow/hinder the Bitter Ordeal combo down. If one wanted to lean more towards this combo within the shell of this deck, all you have to do is add redundancy at that point. Along with Gaea's Blessing you could also throw in the deck Kozilek, Butcher of Truth Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Emrakul, the Aeons Torn to increase your probability of not drawing out the ability to reshuffle your graveyard into your library, which is obviously part of the main engine for Bitter Ordeal. I think I'm going to basically use the shell of your deck, in essence but going to use the Bitter Ordeal combo so I don't feel like I'm completely deck teching.

I feel the Bitter Ordeal combo is a bit slower, and takes a bit more time to set up. If I were to focus mostly on this combo, I would have to follow your Storm Wincon template. I think the best way to set it up is also hard tutoring for Bitter Ordeal If we don't hard tutor for Bitter Ordeal we can just aim to begin milling ourselves immediately, at this point I would only want say, Gaea's Blessing in the library with no Eldrazi's, because we hope to mill ourselves into Dread Return along with Bitter Ordeal + Eternal Witness in the graveyard, otherwise we're sitting here playing the shuffle/mill game for each time we hit Gaea's Blessing UNTIL we hit Dread Return WITH Bitter Ordeal + Eternal Witness in the graveyard bringing back Eternal to fetch Bitter.

In conclusion if I were to go Bitter Ordeal combo, the more practical way to do it would be to also tutor out Bitter putting it in hand, along with something that allows you to discard a card incase you drew into, or started with Gaea's Blessing in hand. I really want to emphasize on this combo using your deck as a shell, which would probably result in tweaking the deck with some stuff to make Bitter Ordeal the main focus. If one did not hard tutor for Bitter. I could go with Food Chain+Eternal Scourge+Sidisi+Viscera Seer+A sac outlet on board. Milling a bunch for each time we hit Gaea's Blessing, creating a lot of tokens. Then start saccing tokes to scry dig until we reach Bitter and want to draw into it. Idk definitely some playing around with the deck for an efficient Bitter Ordeal build, but I feel it's possible?

As a suggestion what about Thrasios, Triton Hero he's one of the more competitive commanders out there you can partner him with somebody else, also fits with your theme well I guess not....he's half fish so that's something I guess.

But using his ability you can essentially make infinite Mana draw out your entire deck play all your cards and just all-around do stupid stuff with it and there's tons of ways to make infant Mana in these colorsBasalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth Eternal Scourge + Food Chain Auriok Salvagers + Lion's Eye Diamond if partner with a commander allowing you access to White

Plus if you have a person like Brian at your shop and might do well to go ahead and start building your competitive EDH deck now is everyone else that your Shops going to start doing it too.

I speak from experience cuz at my shop we don't have a Brian but we have a Michael and our storewide motto is "f#@k you Michael".

DJYavimaya on Commanders by Power Level [EDH Tier List]

n0bunga just to sort of correct a few of the reasons why a few of the Tier 1 commanders are where they are, SBT and Tazri are both there because of their ability to turn Eternal Scourge + Food Chain into a 2 card way to find your wincon. In the case of Tazri, he lets you find one the Allies who will either mill or damage all your opponents and then using Food Chain you can get infinite Ally ETB triggers to win. For SBT, you use her as essentially a tutor to get Walking Ballista into your hand via Dread Return + Eternal Witness and then win with Ballista + infinite creature mana.

It's more than that the commanders provide something to do in addition to their color ID, it's that they provide the means to win the game

Definitely not competitive. First off: Eternal Scourge + Food Chain /Food Chain + Misthollow Griffin . And no ways of preventing/mitigating creature wipes. Run either counters, or stuff like Soul of New Phyrexia

Man-o'-War bounces itself, and you are right! I meant to put in Cloudstone Curio with the combo, I will edit it right away!

Also, the Eternal Scourge + Food Chain should be able to work. It wouldn't be in their control as you would be exiling it as an evasion. I will do research about it. What I read about it though is that it would work, sort of how Food Chain + Misthollow Griffin legacy deck that utilizes it.

The Eternal Scourge + Food Chain combo won't work. Eternal Scourge is your opponents control. So if you try that, the Scourge dies. I don't understand any of the Aluren combos; do you have any 0 mana bounce spells/abilities? Also, and Chandra's Ignition for the Ancestral Statue combo. Other than that, like the deck and +1.
