Awesome suggestion! I think The Mycosynth Gardens could probably take the place of Ghost Quarter in the main and move ghost to the side; but there is ALWAYS a Titan/Hammertime player at my LGS I just didn't see them last night. But thank you I'm gonna get me some of them!

I was honestly on the verge of cutting Smallpox but the effect although horrible for everyone makes Tombstalker or any delve creature Tasigur, the Golden Fang/Gurmag Angler really easy to reliably cast; and the 5 toughness was what allowed me to win against Rhinos.

I have done zero playtesting against any decks running The One Ring... I think my main goal is to just not let them cast it at all via discard because I'm pretty sure I just lose if it resolves when they have 4+ life and/or have 1+ card in hand... Shrieking Affliction can still hurt them; but if they draw all the cards that's not gonna get it done...and I'm just not sure what I would do with a copy of the ring... dig for Pithing Needle/other sideboard cards?... Idk I'll playtest it and get a better understanding of it (I have a full playset of Phyrexian Metamorph just collecting dust so why not?)

Yeah the Ghost Quarter thing makes sense, this deck cares a lot about black pips. Hmm other ideas maybe 1 of Tasigur, the Golden Fang as a cheaper delver option/to diversify, probably wouldn't do this unless you are finding yourself frequently unable to cast the Tombstalkers...

Also what about Phyrexian Metamorph to clone racks or your opponent's Ring? As a sideboard card maybe? Seems like it would also be good cloning your stalkers. The Mycosynth Gardens to clone racks too and still can make black!

HIIIII OMFG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! I've been thinking of trying to build an Animate Library meme deck for myself the past couple weeks, only to find this!!!! Everything looks pretty good to me! Just wondering why, if they're your main wincons, you don't have full playsets of Grimoire of the Dead or Animate Library in the deck. I would/will probably do that building my own version.

Oh also now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like the deck is quite costed, so the ideal cost of Compulsive Research, discarding a land, feels bad lolz! I might run Divination, as suggested by HalbrechtHalbrecht instead. Though I understand wanting to discard a lot, for the Grimoire. Idk. I'm still new to all this!

I love the tight deck theming going on, but I'm way too competitive a person to not abandon some of it if I could make the deck better! Perhaps instead of Walking Archive, a pretty new card: Auton Soldier? Myriad would be disgusting!

If you really go the copy route (which was my own first thought for an Animate Library deck), Mechanized Production could be a cool tertiary wincon for this deck. Actually, wouldn't you have to choose between Grimoire support and MP support for either to actually work? Too much going on otherwise. Anyway, The Mycosynth Gardens, I think would allow you to copy the library creature just by tapping it? It has a CMC condition, but the library itself doesn't cost any mana, only the enchantment that made it into a creature does! So it would be a free copy!

I could go on and on about all the spells I've researched that would allow you to copy the library creature, but I digress! Adding enough of them is gonna make this deck much, much less budget, too. So I will conclude with: thank you so much for this deck list!!!! Have you gotten the chance to play it since you made it?? I'd love to know your experience with the deck!!!!

For a card I think is iconic right now, i’m going to suggest Unearth. I wreaks of colour-flavour and is a go-to great spell in a lot of the “older” formats.

For a card that I think will become iconic if we give it a few years, i’m going to suggest The Mycosynth Gardens. I think the card will age well, in addition to it “feeling” like a card that’s older than it actually is (and so more ingrained in history).

Jphorn on Gond Gate + Amulet of …

I'm playtesting a gates deck right now and I used a The Mycosynth Gardens to copy my Amulet of Vigor and I want to produce extra mana by untapping gates multiple times when I play them. But I have a Gond Gate in play. Can I choose to have the gates enter play tapped so I produce the extra manna?

Also if I put them into play with a ramp spell like Hour of Promise can I choose to have the Gond Gate replacement effect happen first then the tapped clause of the spell second so they enter tapped and trigger the Amulet of Vigor?

Haha, I'm still trying to see if there's any other artifacts worth copying with The Mycosynth Gardens beyond the obvious Amulet of Vigor.

Cosima, God of the Voyage  Flip seems like an interesting version of Tireless Tracker where you don't need to invest mana, but I am still not sure if the backside is worth copying, even though it lets us swing with Azusa, Lost but Seeking sort of, or capitalize with the creature side if we can't get through. I'll try it out, best thing I could find so far, even though highly situational, and probably a little slow.

Surprisingly nothing really comes to mind, but I will keep thinking about how to abuse the new deck.

Unfortunately, no, and I don't think it is feasible to try to fit it in here with 4x The Mycosynth Gardens either. Prior to that, this would have been a great card, and we could have played a Godless Shrine alongside a third fetch and ran 3-4 each of Golgari Rot Farm and Selesnya Sanctuary (trim on Simic Growth Chambers) with no real downside to speak of.

Now, it fells like a bit too much of an investment for a backup plan. I still think it is a great card, but I don't think I can fit it in here without trading off some explosiveness by making some other cuts I really don't want to.
