I have been meaning to overhaul this deck after so long. I first made it 3 years ago and I deconstructed it a long time ago. Maybe I will take another crack and rebuild it better than ever. I still want the "Monster Squad" movie represented and reaper king gives me accecss to blue and all other colors. If this was just black then a lot of this deck like Festival would have to be taken out.

You could Enlightened Tutor and put some more 2 and under instants like Festival or Orim's Chant (side note: you can kick spells on the Isochron Scepter. You could also throw in Island Sanctuary and some of the new equipment creatures. Glory could also work well with your commander.

I have a mono-white voltron deck so see if anything else I'm using could be of help: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/isamuru/

Nice. Here’s a few suggestions: Siren's Call + Festival, Lightmine Field, Holy Day, Abu Ja'far, Beloved Chaplain, Commander Eesha. Good luck.

+1 for a very innovative deck! Love original brews like this.

You want Creatures to Attack...

Bident of Thassa - It is in the Maybeboard but I'd highly recommend adding this to the main board. It fulfills the 2 things your deck wishes to do: 1) Forcing people to attack; 2) Card draw for you.

Siren's Call - This is a hidden gem, which forces opponent's creatures to attack or face destruction. Perfect for a "Chaos theme" deck. Combos well with Festival or Orim's Chant to create a single-sided board wipe. Feel free to stick this onto Isochron Scepter for repeated use!

Oracle en-Vec - "Come at me you %@#$" Basically Taunt on a stick!

You want to lessen the pain...

Energy Field - Opponents attack each other, YOU WIN... Opponents attack you, you take no damage, draw a bunch of cards... and STILL WIN!

Thunderstaff - Lessen the pain is always good. Ability to grant situational buff to your creatures is a plus here.

Angel's Grace - When all else fails... call upon the Angels to grant you sanctuary and protection!

Isochron Scepter - You're running a lot of damage prevention instants with CMC 2 or less, so the Scepter is definitely worth a slot in the deck!

Hope these helps. Cheers!

Ravenrose Simply love the flavor of your deck. How is your meta like?

Here're some of my useful and flavorful suggestions:

1) Cryptic Gateway , Quicksilver Amulet , Belbe's Portal - These are alternate ways to cheat out your Sphinx army, just in case Yennett gets hated out.

2) Urza's Incubator , Patriarch's Bidding - Tribal staples.

3) Siren's Call - Adds to the flavor of the deck as the inability to answer a Sphinx's riddles, is as deadly as a Siren's call. Pair them off with Festival or Orim's Chant and you've a single sided boardwipe!

4) Always Watching - Sphinxes are also viewed as Guardians, commonly seen at the entrance of temples, thus "Vigilance" fits this theme perfectly. This synergizes well with Cryptic Gateway as you can attack with your Sphinxes 1st then summon more at end of opponents' turn using the Gateway!

Hope you find these suggestions useful and fun! Let me know what you think. Cheers.

Woah - I had never seen Oracle en-Vec before.

I immediately think of Moment of Silence effects (of which you have one set with Orim's Chant ) but it seems like there's enough potential of having an opponent overcommit and then taking out their entire board with a one mana instant - to have it be worth it.

Festival , Stonehorn Dignitary in your second main phase, or Master Warcraft might all be good.

Do you need Path to Exile as well as Swords to Plowshares?

Depending on your meta, it may be worth running a red/white instant sweeper instead that can be tutored with Sunforger?

Ethereal Haze or Forfend or Festival are white alternatives to Fog.

And Scapegoat can protect from boardwipes.

UrbanGirlScout on Casual Dirty combo

Hi all,

i was discussing some combos i have put in casual decks that turned out to be a little to dirty for the kitchen table. For example Siren's Call and Festival is a turn card combo board wipe.

What have you guys done or seen that turned out to be a little to extreme for the casual group? This actually turned out to be a good debate between my friends and i as we thought long and hard about the stuff we have seen.
