Ember-Fist Zubera Discussion

No, these cards don't interact in that way. The "in-play zone" is an old name for the battlefield. Instants and sorceries never go to the battlefield, they just stay on the stack until they resolve. In your example Blades of Velis Vel goes from the stack to the graveyard and doesn't affect Ember-Fist Zubera's ability.

Does playing Blades of Velis Vel count as a Zubera going to the graveyard from play?

So let's just say Ember-Fist Zubera, Floating-Dream Zubera, and Ashen-Skin Zubera are all on the battlefield, and I cast Devouring Greed. All of the creatures die at the same time, so does each Zubera's death trigger automatically go to 3? Will I get to draw three cards, make target opponent discard three cards, and deal three damage to a target creature or player (with the effects of Devouring Greed of course), or do I have to have them trigger separately so that it'll happen in an order of one zubera trigger is at one, the second is at two, and the third is at three?

Clever Impersonator, Phyrexian Metamorph, Cryptoplasm, and the wonderful Clone all give you more zubera and you can pick which one they become. I do agree that you need either Ember-Fist Zubera, Zulaport Cutthroat, or Blood Artist as alternate win cons.
Also Cauldron of Souls requires the same amount of mana to get all your zubera back after they die and is repeatable off of new zubera that you draw so you don't always have to wait for your Immortal Servitude
Mistform Warchief can also help you cast more zubera :D
I really like the idea! I hope it works out!

although i just realized that Dripping-Tongue Zubera's the only one that makes tokens lol. That makes it harder, but playing Ember-Fist Zuberas in place of the Floating-Dreams would help kill the opponent the turn you drop the Immortal Servitude. But maybe Arcane Adaptation from Ixalan can make the plan more effective? Metallic Mimic can come into play as a Zubera, and is conveniently cmc 2 so that would power up the number of tokens you can get from Dripping-Tongue.

I would start with some straight cuts/replacements.
Devouring Greed is a lackluster kill condition, too expensive, bad at any point except when you're winning, and is double black in a deck that's splashing black. I would cut it and the black lands to streamline your deck, or I would cut red. Those are the two colors that are doing the least right now.
Benefaction of Rhonas is just way too slow for modern. If you are spending 3 mana for no effect on the board you are going to lose. Commune with the Gods does the same thing but trades a card for a a mana, which is a good trade in a low to the ground deck like this. However, I think something closer to Satyr Wayfinder, which puts a body on the board, but can only get lands, or Grapple with the Past, which grabs lands or creatures from grave and works at instant speed, but only digs 3 deeper, would work better.
Your mana base is questionable. I recognize that most of that is probably budget issues, but there are still things you can do. Scry lands are about a dollar each, and much better than life lands. You also would probably benefit from a few more basics, with Evolving Wilds to filter.
Shields of Velis Vel is just bad. Just about anything on your maybe board would be a better fit.
Next, I think you need to streamline the mana base by removing a color, either red or black. I think you can work with either, but they would be very different decks. Here's my idea, but you might want to take it in a different direction.
No Red: The deck becomes much more graveyard and combo oriented. Run cards like Grisly Salvage and Thought Scour to mill as much as possible. You then run Zulaport Cutthroat and 1 Bloodthrone Vampire for a combo kill off of one of the mass revival spells.
No Black: This is a board control route. Lightning Bolt and board wipes such as Pyroclasm would be the main gain, though the latter would probably be for aggro decks that you won't get the chance to overrun. Ember-Fist Zubera is a powerful card against plenty of decks in the format because of how many relevant 1 toughness minions there are in the format.
That's it for my suggestions, but let me know if you want any more. Like the deck.

I would love to see Horror or Demons as one of the tribes but that would involve some tiny demons which I just dont see happening. Guessing one of them might be humans or angels though. It would be funny if they threw a curve ball and went with Slith's like Slith Firewalker or Zubera like Ember-Fist Zubera.

@-Sylex-: I see, thanks for the response.
I agree to your assessment on Devouring Greed, it's probably just not needed. The best thing about Pauper are the low prices, so I guess I'm gonna take your deck and try it out as is, then see how a 3-color version fairs in comparison (btw., I meant of course Ember-Fist Zubera, not Ashen-Skin, got those confused).
