The Mono-Black wants to use Gifted Aetherborn and Vampire Nighthawk to survive the early game until it can win with its large creatures or with a huge Corrupt, Consume Spirit, or Gray Merchant of Asphodel.

Liliana of the Dark Realms shines here. Your deathtouch creatures can defend her very well, and in the meantime she is getting your Swamps every turn. This powers your Korlash, Heir to Blackblade and makes her second ability a lethal threat or a powerful removal spell.

Yawgmoth's Bargain is a problem card here. I love how powerful it is, but sometimes it just provides a little too power that has almost no counterplay. If you cast it, the odds of you winning increases greatly. This might be mitigated by removing Consume Spirit and Gray Merchant and focusing on Corrupt as a way to deal damage - this encourages the Swamp theme and stops your ability to easily deal twenty damage in a single turn. I don't know.

Regardless, this deck is fun to play. It does a lot of cool things and it also does epic things. Its ability to generate a ton of mana allows some very hilarious and powerful plays that everyone enjoys.
