Cards like Eerie Interlude?

Deck Help forum

Trying to make a deck based around Recruiter of the Guard. And I know that there are better versions of Eerie Interlude, but I don't know what they are.

What is said deck trying to do? And what format? Casual? Legacy competitive?

Ghostly Flicker, Deadeye Navigator, Essence Flux, Flickerform, Flickerwisp

If you're planning on using some blue in the mix, blue has a very good selection when it comes to blinking.

Ghostway is a very similar card

The deck is going to be legacy and its going to use a core build of Recruiter of the Guard, Eternal Witness, and Eerie Interlude to find the things I need and be able to do it as many times as my mana will allow it.

If you want to flicker that card Venser, the Sojourner, Deadeye Navigator, and Nephalia Smuggler are also good.

Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker lets you put a second copy of that card on the field, so you get its ETB effect.

Kaya, Ghost Assassin looks like she would also work.

Eerie Interlude lets you dodge removal though.

Restoration Angel is also a thing, but probably too much mana for legacy.

Well I have never played legacy, so I wouldn't know.

I would not suggest building a legacy deck. If you want it to be any competitive, flickering is not the way to go. Try building a commander deck instead. Brago, King Eternal is a very competitive commander.

Setting up a value engine like Recruiter + E Witness + Ghostly Flicker is probably win-more more than it is useful. By the time you set up the combo, you'll be staring down a Tarmogoyf, a Jace, the Mind Sculptor and a ticking down suspended Ancestral Vision. More than that, the combo is susceptible to being stopped by countermagic, such as Force of Will. Because of that, you're probably better off playing something more like a Maverick (BGW) creature toolbox deck featuring 4 Green Sun's Zenith, 4 Recruiter of the Guard, and a toolbox of hate since now you have a lot more ways to find your hate cards. Something halfway between traditional Maverick and Death and Taxes.

Alternatively, a GWx Birthing Pod Recruiter deck could be good, but might be too win-more.

Also alternatively, Stoneforge Mystic is one of the best things to grab with Recruiter of the Guard, so you could make the return of Caw Blade!

Flickerwisp can be tutored for with Recruiter of the Guard and if you play AEther Vial you get a lot of utility from Flickerwisp. Consider splashing red for Magus of the Moon? Its the best target i can think of for Recruiter of the Guard..

I play 3 Recruiter of the Guard in my Death & Taxes (Conspiracy update!) list if you are interested in that deck :)
