Mageta the Lion is a scary commander, but I like it. I know your still working on lands, but Emeria, The Sky Ruin is an auto include.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is definitely auto include. Same with Pearl Medallion. Might be interested in Extraplanar Lens and switching so Snow-Covered Plains. Acceleration ftw. (: +1

You are very right, and I haven't yet tackled the mana base. I've always been a bit wary of Extraplanar Lens though because a lot of people in our playgroup used to use them...and they'd always get destroyed. Green is a real problem here. Ended up being a exile a land for one turn of double mana kind of thing.

Mana rocks will get destroyed, for sure. It's just good acceleration and although you exile a land, it's totally worth it. It's all based on your preference. When it gets blown up, meh. But when it DOESN'T? Fun times, fun times.

So the concept is there...it's just a bit limited on recursion sadly. The deck definitely takes advantage of dropping cards to wipe the board, and plays large creatures from the grave. Sad part is that I need more draw and am wondering if adding blue would make it better, though that means changing the commander and wrecking the discard mechanic. Sigh.

Why not play Avacyn, Angel of Hope? She makes everything indestructible so when your commander uses his ability none of your stuff is destroyed.

Just put one in. Sadly it's a proxy since my only one is in my Boros deck Scorching Winds. It really needed to be in here...for obvious reasons.

After some playtesting the deck seems to be doing well. It does slow the game down a bit with all the board wipes, but I tend to keep enough of a presence out there that I can kill people off. Downsides so far are Capsize and other bounce mechanics, and lacking any exile sources other than Archon of Justice. I'm hesitant to put in spot removal since I have the ability to wrath when I want to, but there have been times that something indestructible has proven problematic. And of course card draw...though we will see how Skullclamp and Staff of Nin work out here. I'm tempted to add in a Howling Mine etc, but I always hate to give other players more draw.

Avenger en-Dal has a discard effect with the added bonus of exiling nasty attackers. Shoot, many of the spellshapers could be of use, but your big boy commander does do the most.

Anvil of Bogardan could be interesting as a Howling Mine with a discard. The only problem I see is the added no maximum handsize would be too beneficial to your hated blue opponents.

I like this list, and it seems to be doing pretty well. When it comes to decks like these, there is very little you can do about graveyard hate, especially when you don't have good access to counter spells. The only thing you can add are effects like the one on Reito Lantern. In terms of spot removal, Path to Exile is always one of the best, allowing you to path your own creature if necessary for mana. Knight of the White Orchid might be nice to keep up with other players. Other than that, this a really solid list. Keep up the good work! :D

RyProv I'd had Avenger en-Dal in here previously, and I'm always on the fence with him. So far this deck wipes the board loads of times so there's not as much on the field that needs to get exiled aside from indestructible creatures. I do think the Anvil of Bogardan is an interesting idea though. You are right about blue, so it's really a 50/50 on whether I want them to draw or not. I tend to avoid cards that help my opponents, which is why Oath of Lieges isn't in here either.

AcousticThunder, with most of the recursion in the deck, and the few threshold cards I have I'd rather not bother dumping cards back into my library, and I actually ended up taking out Knight of the White Orchid. Most games I end up with a ton of land and he becomes a dead draw. I'd rather get a Solemn Simulacrum for my Kor Cartographer, or possibly just drop a different card for him. That way I get a guaranteed land drop.

Heliod, God of the Sun works wonders with Mageta the Lion. He allow Mageta to declare an attack without tapping, then activate it's ability before blocks. And when you just happen to have Devotion 5, he's another indestructible beater.

Sacred Mesa and Field of Souls can work in a similar manner to Heliod, too, in that they remain on the board after you wipe, but can immediately go to work creating tokens for you. Luminarch Ascension as well, though it's much more conditional.

There are some others that aren't quite as great, such as Myr Matrix, Promise of Bunrei, Sarpadian Empires, Vol. VII, Summoning Station, etc... that I'm not sure are worth running. Maybe if you retooled the deck for more token love, but that would be a bigger project and it's already great as it is.

Also, I don't know why this didn't occur to me before, but you really, really want Mimic Vat in here.

I always go back and forth on Mimic Vat. I swear it avoids getting drawn, and then when I do have it in play it gets exiled. It could be the result of my playgroup though. A lot of people run some powerful artifacts so there is no end to the artifact hate at the table. I had it in here in a previous build and it didn't get much use, but I should keep it in the maybeboard just in case I feel like putting it back in.

It's one of those cards that I kind of believe should be in every deck. It does so many great things, such as shut down undying and persist and other graveyard shenanigans. It is such a powerhouse, but yes, it is of course a removal magnet.

i think Warping Wail is another possible counterspell but it depends on your manabase.

Curious...that may be a bit too situational for this deck. Same reason that I left out Illumination. I love the trickery of an off color counterspell, but you still need them to work in most situations.
